An Infinity Binary Watch Design

Design submitted by Jordan from Canada.

Jordan says: “With this watch, I wanted to do something I hadn’t done before. I was skimming through the blog, and binary seemed to be the way to go, so here’s my first binary watch… Infinity – A watch to last forever.

The time telling is relatively simple. There is 5 lines of lights – 2, 4, 3, 4, 2 – set up as a figure eight. The first 2 lines are the hours, the second two are the minutes, and the last is just to balance the watch and finish the figure eight. Check out the explanation below for more detail.

The wide strap makes this design more preferable for men, but can be worn by women also. As you can see, the screen itself is large in comparison to the set-up of the lights. This was not intentional. I’d change it if I could, but I can’t load this into 3ds max as it’s no longer a 3d object, just a .png file.”

  1. Oops, this is not quite binary! 10, 20, 30 decimal is indicated. Unique but the idea is a bit confusing. Unconvincing. Sorry, I don’t like!

  2. The preview image looked pretty appealing. The darker blue off LEDs look good when the others are on. The mixed time reading is not the best decision, but ok (binary and 10 minte steps). The display-case-relation in the last image ist the best. The watch isn’t exiting to me but also not bad, so neutral 3* from me.

    • Ah, I just noticed the lights now. They must have gotten stretched when I was rotating the watch itself.
      Thanks for your feedback!
