Design submitted by Ignacio from Spain.
Ignacio says: “The inspiration for this watch design came from my previous submission, 4Cross. It’s practically the same idea, but much more simple and with another aspect. I searched for some inspiration in the Tokyoflash Watch Museum, the Tibida and Pimp Pusher watches inspiring me the most. Read the rest of this entry »

Design submitted by Sam from Germany.
Sam says: “I combined two ideas I had into this watch. The first idea came from the backlight of a car. I had this idea about the same time when I made my go-stop watch. Here again, I am using white light and cover it with colored plastic. And this is where my second idea comes in: I wanted the plastic covers to be replaceable, so everyone can create an own color layout. Read the rest of this entry »

Design submitted by Radu from Romania.
Radu says: “The idea for this watch design came to me when I saw some Christmas lights in a department store being reflected between a glass display case and a mirror. I have wanted for some time to submit a design to the Tokyoflash Design Studio Blog but nothing original enough occurred to me so this was a stroke of good luck.

Design submitted by Lloyd from Australia.
Lloyd says: “This watch design is based on one of my puzzle ideas and, although it looks baffling initially, is actually incredibly easy to understand. It is called “Domino FX” because of the 4 domino-like figures in the display. However, these are not really dominoes, but digital 8s with up to 7 spots arranged inside each.

Design submitted by Peter from the UK.
Peter says: “I was driving in my car and I noticed a trend with modern cars to have strip LED tail lights and running lights (halo style lights). Design submitted by Laszlo from Hungary.
This mechanical watch design would require a large case and a reliable locking mechanism to ensure the cylinders lock on to the correct time. Three cylinders would rotate to reveal the time by digits (hours, 10 minute group and single minutes). A steampunkesque concept that would look incredible on your wrist.

(English) Design submitted by Heather from the USA.
Heather says: I was sketching digits that appeared to be folded over two faces of a cube, when it occurred to me that they would look even more interesting if one face showed a positive display of the digit, while the other showed a negative one. The display is “TWOFOLD”. Read the rest of this entry »

(English) Design submitted by Peter from the UK.
Peter says: This is “Glow”, I was trying to come up with an LED watch that didn’t tell the time directly with the LEDs. So I decided it would be nice if you read the time using the light given off by the LEDs. Read the rest of this entry »

A new concept from the Tokyoflash Design Studio.
An original concept watch design that uses an e-paper display to present the time. The overall appearance of the watch is pure and simple. The white block in the centre of the screen display the time in binary (hours 1, 2, 4, 8 on the top row and minutes 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 on the bottom two rows). Combinations of these numbers indicate the time. For example, if the 8 hour light was out and the 1 and 2 minute lights were out, the time would be 8:03. Read the rest of this entry »
