Lloyd says: “Confusion” is a modern-looking LCD concept watch that displays the time in a simple but puzzling way using jumbled up numbers. The idea occurred to me over a year ago after seeing Heather and Sam’s design “Out of Order”.

Lloyd says: This LCD concept watch displays the time and date using an enigmatic-looking arrangement of shapes made up of squares. That’s why it’s called “Tessera”, after the small square tiles used to make mosaics.
Design submitted by Max from the USA.
Max says: Loading screens are awful, anyone who has ever played a video game know how much loading screens ruin the flow of a game. They’re like getting stuck in heavy traffic. But now I realize a Loading screen makes a perfect watch.

Lloyd says: “Arcadia” is an LCD concept watch design with a choice of 3 fun displays to tell you the time: one has alien invaders similar to the ones in some retro arcade games, another has rain clouds and the other jellyfish. So, hopefully, there’s something to appeal to everyone.
Design submitted by Sam from Germany
Sam says: KAKU is a 12-5-9 concept that uses kanji with different stroke counts instead of numbers. The inspiration came when looking up a kanji in a dictionary. The kanji were sorted by components, reading and also the amount of stokes, that are required to write them.
Design submitted by Peter from the UK.
Peter says: This is “Digital Warp” an always on LCD watch. This design just came from an image that popped into my head. The image was digits that were distorted around a circle “warped” if you like. So I just made four digits concentric wrapped around each other as if they were being sucked into a black hole in the centre of the display.

Lloyd says: This LCD concept watch design is named “Keiro” after the Japanese word meaning pathway.
Design submitted by Colby from South Africa.
Colby says: With inspiration from the intrigue of The Bermuda Triangle and crop circles, coupled with the classic feel of 1960-1980’s sci-fi movies, the ‘Bermuda’ was born. My underlying principle was to use an unconventional watch shape, and include a one-of-a-kind function.
