Hidden Time Watch Concept

Design submitted by Genghis from France.

At first glance, this concept looks like a simple strap with a watch shape, but the secret is beneath the first strap.  If you ‘peel’ the strap, you will see a classical vertical time display in LED.  The LEDs are off when they are hidden by the strap.  A simple sensor switches the LEDs on when peeling the strap.

There is no mechanical lock system.  The whole strap is made of two rubber parts and will fit to most wrist sizes.  The two straps are welded together only along the half of the contact surface.  Two buttons on the back are for time setting.

  1. Oh thats a sporty design I like. It’s simple, easy to read and has a cool way to show the time. On other watches you press a button, here you look under a strap. Thats a nice gesture. I can imagine this watch on my wrist 🙂

  2. Yes this is a very nice sporty design. I can imagine wearing it while running. I like the different color variations.

    • You’re right, but I think that a material like rubber could be good.
The upper strap must be tighten on the other one.
My description is not complete enough. You can see the time only when keeping the upper strap with your fingers. Thanks to its elsticity, this strap goes back to its normal position automatically.
The fingers indeed are not shown on the first picture.

  3. Yes I could see this as a sport type of watch as well. That usually mean a lower price however. Not something I would wear to a nice dinner. Maybe go more that direction with some bright colors or even some textures.

  5. I personnaly would not wear it for sport (as it is not easy to watch the time while running) but more a fun accessory watch for a casual event! Really nice!
