Interactive Memory Watch

Design Submitted by Heather Sable from USA.

I wanted to develop an idea for a fun interactive watch. Inspired by the game Simon, this watch tells you the time by lighting up colored buttons in a particular order. If you cannot tell the time by simply following the animated light display, you can play the memory game to display the time digitally. (or, if you give up, press a different button that automatically displays the time digitally.)

Reversible Watch Concept

Design submitted by Akinori from Japan.

This watch concept is designed to fit your day-to-day mood.  The whole watch is completely reversible – one side showing a full leather watch and solid metal steel for the reversed side.  Hours and minutes are shown in  liquid crystal displays on the sides of the watch face.  Time is displayed into blocks to be able to read time even in reversed mode. Right-angled LED Watch Design

Design submitted by Lee from the USA.

Composed entirely of right angles, time on this watch design is easy to tell.  The 12 square LEDs on the left represent the hours, the middle ones represent 10 minutes group, and each of the 9 square LEDs on the right represent a single minute.  The LEDs can light up in green, blue, or red.  Switching between colors can be easily done with just a touch of a button. Glyph Buckle Watch Concept

Design submitted by Devindh from UK.

The idea for this watch design is mainly inspired by current fashion trends and Sci-Fi.  It is also an indirect homage to “jump hour” style watches.

The main case is in the form of a buckle that has 2 straps from the main cuff feeding through it.  60 raised dots denote seconds and 12 raised bars represent hours.  The arrow that points to the seconds has 5 divisions, one for each dot in the row of 5.  The bars illuminate one by one until 15 minutes have past then it ‘jumps’ to the next row. Tron-inspired LED Watch

Design submitted by Scott from UK.

This concept was voted as one of the most popular designs by fans on the blog and thanks to your votes has become reality and is now available to buy here exclusively at Tokyoflash Japan.

This watch design takes its inspiration from one of Scott’s favorite films as a kid, TRON, and from his Pimp Pimpin Ain’t Easy watch.  He wants something that will get noticed when it lights up and that’s why he came up with an electroluminescence strip around the whole watch strap. This unique watch design from Laszlo could be made in LED or e-paper – both making strong and solid statements.  Date and time are displayed in barcodes and digits.  Barcode is changing every second showing the actual time including the seconds.  Straps and casing are made from stainless steel which enhances the barcoded watch face. On The Track Watch Design

Design submitted by Maciej from Poland.

Maciej says of his watch design – “My idea was to keep things simple, clean, efficient as possible, but still innovative and has a Tokyoflash style.  I wanted to create something that has one simple shape and pattern which goes around the watch without any crazy colors or shapes.  Something that is modest and outstanding at the same time”. Solar-powered Watch Design

Design submitted by Sam from Germany.

This solar watch uses its free energy to light up a twine on a transparent LED membrane.  The single vertical line goes through curves and ribbons, and forms the four numbers to show time.  A solar cell saves up energy to the battery and ensures continuous function.  Case and straps blend together making the watch look like it’s made in one metal piece.  The smooth strap ends are magnetic so there is no need for any lock mechanism. Red Predator Watch Design Concept

Design submitted by Calvin from UK.

Time on this watch design is shown on the LEDs on the side of the watch and Predator symbols on the front of a see-through glass screen.  The left side of the screen tells hours, right side of the watch shows groups of 5 minutes, bottom part shows single minutes, and the symbol in the middle stays whole if AM and cut in half if PM.
