This smart watch design from Heather features all the convenient ‘smart’ functions such as; play music, message notifications, check-in, control phone camera (for selfies 😉 ) but with a more traditional & tasteful case design so it doesn’t look too out of place during your daily life. The primary idea is designed for women & the display compliments the jewellery feeling of a ladies watch – but there is a mens option too featuring a more masculine case & strap. It is an LCD watch & has regular digits with a twist.

I also aware of Pebble watch and other smart watches that pretty decent functioned and priced. When first time I get info about Tf making a segmented LCD or LED smart watch, I ask myself, how to make the smart watch compete with other decent watches available out there? How to make it is worth it to have a watch with this limitation. How to justify the price tag?

“Play” smart watch for the musically minded.

Cory says: The watch is a Touch screen LCD/LED hybrid. It uses a dot matrix composed of Triangles instead of squares. I made this design very music friendly, when a track from your playlist comes up, you can swipe right for next, left for previous. The outer ring is not dissimilar to Rogue Touch and On Air, so the functionality will be familiar to Tokyoflash fans.

Radial smart watch notifies you of texts, email

A subtle smart watch design that uses a circular display matrix to display the time & simple text messages & notification icons. The watch informs you of new emails, social chat (such as Skype or Facebook) as well as remaining you of calendar events & missed phone calls. You can also control your music while you are jogging by skipping tracks or pausing etc. The time is displayed in the bottom half of the watch face as regular digits.

The unassuming shape of the watch makes it easy for anyone to wear, but the tunnel-like display adds a touch of uniqueness.

Nippon smart watch plays music on the go.

Anders says: I wanted to try designing something a little more avant-garde and iconic than the smartwatches I’ve seen before. Specifically I aimed to find an interesting way to mix the time display and the Bluetooth indicators. In order to maximize the clarity of the design I’ve tried to keep everything as clean, uncluttered and legible as possible. What I’ve come up with is this; Nippon.
