Smart watches are the must have gadget of the moment. They have been a popular theme on the blog too, with various weird and wonderful schemes suggested. One of the main issues the blog has highlighted is that not everyone who likes these weird and wonderful schemes necessarily needs all the expensive features that come included in a smart watch, and more importantly they don’t want to pay for features they don’t need.

Justin says: The era of the Smart Watch is upon us. I thought it would a good time to try my hand at designing one. The market is still in its infancy and there is plenty of demand for them. Some try to do far too much, while others, not enough. I believe I have struck a nice balance here.

Peter says: The name is “Borgy” in origin, as the watch will be linked to a smart phone creating a small collective. The phone will be “1 of TWO”
The basic premise for my design is that the borders of the icons tell the time in an always-on column on the display. This column is easily seen as it is displayed inverted to the rest of the display and continues a contrasting stripe that runs through the strap. (I have used a metallic LCD with black background for my examples. This used in conjunction will coloured glass gives a nice contrast)

Logan says: With a case width of just 23.4 mm, this would be the world’s slimmest smartwatch. The first image shows a comparison to the widths of existing popular smartwatches, which are much wider. Even if other smartwatches might have greater app functionality, Tokyoflash could still attract significant interest from customers who do not like those bulky watches and prefer a narrower, sleek form.
