Anders says: I was on the tram about six months ago when I caught sight of a concrete buttress of some sort, which was shaped like a number of intersecting blocks. It was an interesting shape that I thought might make an interesting watch face, so I sketched out a few ideas. None of them worked, however, but I kept coming back to it.

Peter says: This is “Tri/5/9” a back to basics 12/5/9 LED design.
I was trying to think of a simple and intuitive 12/5/9 watch and the most logical format I could think of was a triangular layout. One side for hours, one for tens of minutes and one for single minutes.

Lewis says: The idea was to combine a simple, functional display with futuristic weapon grade design. I took inspiration from video games and films set in clean metallic futures such as Halo, Titanfall and Tron. the idea for the display came with the shape of the chassis, it needed to be long and symmetrical to make use of the space.

Lukas says: There is something magical about a big city skyline, something that makes you feel free… During the day you can see the ivory skyscrapers basking in the sun, reflecting its rays. At nightfall, when the lights and neons start shining, you can feel a chill breeze on your face. This is what Tokyosky is all about.

Justin says: This design originally started off life as a concept called Diced. The idea came to me all of a sudden and i began doodling, the rest, is history. I wanted a simple yet effective watch face so i stuck with the good old tried and tested analogue format.

Jose says: This new concept displayed to the user the time according to your choice: Code -by default- a simple alien key 🙂 based on the known sequence 12-5-9 or if you prefer with numbers.

Peter says: This is “Trylon Lite” an simplified version of the original Trylon concept.
In the prospect that Trylon should get a second chance at development I have had a few thoughts regarding simplification. In order to reduce watch case/modual size I have taken the lid hinge and latch outside of the case cavity. I have done a few variations which have their own merits.

Jonathan says: I imagined how time would flow through wrist watches of the future. How would the cycle of time be depicted visually with both the straps and the case? Â I had the entire watch interact with all of its components in a balanced way that creates the illusion of motion. Â Â (Motion of time)

Matt says: I had this idea while I was waiting for my oven element to heat.
I made 2 models with a continuous line of LCD segments/LED’s lights and 2 models with 3 unconnected “elements”. It’s an hour/minute watch with alarm and date feature. To tell the time you simply have to look for the segments/lights that are/is ON/OFF.

Firdaus says: Personally speaking, I have get my hand a Sony android smart watch that cost $100. Pretty decent for an OLED watch. I also aware of Pebble watch and other smart watches that pretty decent functioned and priced. When first time I get info about Tf making a segmented LCD or LED smart watch, I ask myself, how to make the smart watch compete with other decent watches available out there? How to make it is worth it to have a watch with this limitation. How to justify the price tag?
