Minimalist Komet watch for the astro minded.

Design submitted by Sam from Germany.

Sam says: I like minimalistic analog watches. They are so relaxed and can look so styslish. So I sketched for a simple but still diversified pair of watch hands. For this watch concept I am using two transparent foils with cleverly placed free zones and imprinted gradients, both placed above a plain white background that could be lit up, if technically possible.

NETWORK: A smartwatch with retro geek chic!

Design Submitted by Logan from the USA.

Logan says: The watch colors are inspired by the amber, green, and white monochrome monitors from the early days of personal computing.  The strap is like gray ribbon cables.  The square shape — a CPU.  Overall, the design is meant to evoke nostalgia for the vintage computing experience.  Even people who did not live through it have seen it in countless movies and TV shows, and associate that imagery with classic computer cool.

I chose one where we was supposed to make a new watchdial to tell time. I passed, but since the design had no other purpose that to show my teacher I thought it would be great to enter this contest with it.

Global watch revives retro sci-fi

“Play” smart watch for the musically minded.

Design submitted by Cory from the USA.

Cory says: The watch is a Touch screen LCD/LED hybrid. It uses a dot matrix composed of Triangles instead of squares. I made this design very music friendly, when a track from your playlist comes up, you can swipe right for next, left for previous. The outer ring is not dissimilar to Rogue Touch and On Air, so the functionality will be familiar to Tokyoflash fans.
