9 Connected Dots Tell Time

KisaiNine4x Preview Ani

(English) Design submitted by Peter from UK.

Peter says: The Kisai logo consists of 9 dots connected together with a few vertical and horizontal lines. This is a good basis for a simple LED array to create a digit . I decided to use four of these arrays to create “KisaiNine4x” (Nine meaning the number of dots per array and 4 x the number of arrays) “Strewth I can see the time from here!!”                                                                                                             Read the rest of this entry »

Grille Designed LED Watch

August 7th, 2013
Induction 01

(English) Design submitted by Peter from UK.

Peter says: This is “Induction” an evolution of an earlier design of mine called “Vent”.  The basic premis with Vent was that the main part of the face of the watch featured a louvered grille that framed an LED array. The grille not only offered the display some shade from direct light but also dictated that the time be read from a specific angle. Read the rest of this entry »

(English) Design submitted by Anders from Sweden.

Anders says: I sketched an LED layout which would fit a sober, angular case. To add a bit of elegance (and hopefully some feminine appeal) I had the additional idea of letting the display shine through a panel of contrasting material, which could also be repeated in the links of the strap.

(English) Razor LED watch reflects iconic phone design

July 15th, 2013
Razor 010

(English) Design submitted by Peter from the UK.

Peter says: A few years ago before the advent of the modern smart phone, mobile phones were far more varied and styled. They weren’t dominated by a huge screen so had to be sleek and interesting in their own right. My favourite phone of this era was the Motorola Razr, it was a sleek thin clam shell style phone with two separate screens and a super sexy metallic key pad. The key pad looked uber futuristic (at the time) with its metallic finish, illuminated numbers and dividing lines and tactile feel. This is what inspired my “Razor” watch.

Vertebrae 07

Peter says: Ever since I started submitting designs for the blog I have been trying to think of a nice design based on Armour, Exoskeletons, and Mecha. June 10th, 2013
Tentacle-01

(English) Design submitted by Peter from the UK.

Peter says: This design is inspired by a combination of sci-fi and the natural world. I wanted to come up with a design that has a simple clutter free bio-mechanical look with a retro feel that could be worn as a piece of jewellery that happens to also tell the time. “Tentacle” was the result which looks like a cross between an arm from a “War of the worlds” tripod and a crustacean.
