(English) Design submitted by Heather from the USA.
Heather says: “I was trying to find a way to make new, interesting looking digits, and I came up with the idea of starting with a rectangle, and drawing in some line segments and dots to give the idea of the digits 0-9. I arranged the digits into 4 quadrants, with line segments connecting them, and noticed that making them not go all the way to the edge of the display plays tricks on the eye. Looking at the watch at first, it appears to be some line segments and dots, while in fact, if you read the background instead, it is quite easy to read the time digitally”.
This watch design displays time with line segments and dots that play tricks with the mind. At first glance, most people will see a display almost like a pictograph of line segments and dots. However, by reading the background, one can easily read the digital time. The same design also continues into the band by having the carved sections on both sides of the wrist. This is an always on design that is intended for men and women alike.

Wow, Heather. I may like this almost as much as cryptic if not more. The time telling method is incredible! It looks like alien writing until your eyes fixate on the negative space and then BAM! instant clarity.
Very Tokyoflash, and very cool. This one I’ll gladly drop the 5/y on.

Cory, thank you so much for your comment and your vote!
I was pretty excited about this one too — not to mention my brother wants to buy one!

Very clever! 5 stars and a big YES from me.

Laszlo, thank you for the comment and vote! Hopefully it’s clever enough that TF will want to produce it!

This is one of those annoying ideas that make me wish I’d thought of it first…=) Technically and graphically very simple, and very effective. Keep ‘em coming! I just hope I’ll get there first occasionally…=)

I’ve seen this type of lettering before but would not have thought of using it for a watch. I think it looks awesome, my only concern is that it’s supposed to be always on, won’t that make the battery life short? How about a normal LCD with a push-button EL backlight instead?

The time telling method is really interesting.

Heather, the idea is really subtle.
Attract the eye with light, but it is around the subject, which is important, beautiful!
5 * / Yes

Very simple, very clever. Me likey! Not much more to say 5* and Yes

Holy ship! A case of GMTA (great minds think alike). I have exactly those numbers in my sketch book! Still fighting with the technology, LCD, LED or analog. Gahh and you just made it! 5*/YES without hesitation! The graphical expression mixed with the actual ease of reading is just my cup of tea. Good luck Heather!

wow!! i guess we do think alike…thanks for the comment and vote, Sam!

Hi, Jun Fan Lee! Sorry, so far this watch has not been produced, but hopefully Tokyoflash will turn that around so we can buy it here!

Cool display, very TF. Like the strap too. I think that “always on” displays are something that is very useful even if it meant it needed charging on a weekly basis. Maybe it could use a similar display technology to Rogue SR2? Also like the name
5/y

Thank you for your comments, Keiron. I’m glad I finally came up with an interesting idea for a strap to go along with this one. And I totally agree about the “always on”. I don’t like wearing a watch that usually doesn’t display the time.

OMG I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!! It’s really cool! You always come up with the best designs =^-^=

I should give you 10* for the idea. The best of 1st page right now!

Awesome design. You need to become a full time product designer.

My favorite of your display ideas so far. This is very much in line with the style of the past two TF releases.

Thanks so much for your comment, Logan. My hopes are up.

This watch is one of the coolest i’ve seen. The concept is new and fresh. It makes me feel like I’m reading in code that only I and few others know. It’s really cool, you should totally make it. If this was out I would definitely buy it.

Wonderful Idea. I would totally buy it!

very creative and super fun watch! congrats to the designer

I think this watch design is absolutely awsome!! It looks so complicated yet it’s so simple! That’s what makes it so cool. If it ever starts selling you can expect me to be the first person in line:)

Very cool design. Like an art piece on your wrist.

Really terrific! I love how simple it is, yet it looks like alien code at first glance before you know! The extension of the design into the band is awesome too. I’d love to get this watch! Great job, I hope it’s made!

Love love love this design. So simple, and alien. Once the font is understood, it becomes quite easy to read. I’m not 100% sold on the strap configuration, but I’m a metal strap/segmented strap kind of fellow.
5*/y for sure. The display alone is worth a purchase.
Brilliant work, Heather.

Very cool look. I like the negative visual style. It makes you wonder until you see it, and then you can’t un-see it HAHA. Very nice.

This is one of the greatest watch designs ever! It’s really creative, and the line segiments that play tricks on your mind are just awesome! Amazing job! If Tokyo Flash ever decides to make a watch like this, I be one of the first to order it!

VERY COOL WATCH DESIGN! If TF were to recognize your amazing talent in designing watches, and they decide to put it on sale, I would be one of the very first one’s to ever buy this segmental watch! Plus, the design is amazing! The segmental design of the time can make a person very confusing in figuring out what time it is at first, but then you would realize it! AWESOME-NESS!

LOVE IT!! Only the strap… I like to see it also shiny and black or sillicon/rubber
loading...
Definitely one of the coolest watches i’ve ever seen! really want this to be made! i would wear it! love it! Good job!

Very nice! Simple design, and very interesting use of negative space! Would make a very good conversation starter! =) Looking forward to it!!

It looks like the Irish ogham alphabet. Very cool. Clever design! It’s abstract yet it makes sense if you know the trick.

This is cool and tokyoflashing. So simple and yet so strange. I’m convinced.

Very cool!

I love the design! Clean, functional, and tons of Pizzazzz!
Keep it up! I’d buy one in a grey color!
