The inspiration for this watch design came from early photofits which were made up from three to four sections of faces. These sections were interchangeable so that a likeness could be made by combining the sections.

This watch design is a continuous-band watch like Tokyoflash Fire or Shinshoku, but the pattern of the holes/LEDs is essentially a binary tree. This makes it easier to read the minutes by comparing to the obvious locations of minutes 2, 4, 8, 16, and 32. Read the rest of this entry »

A new concept from the Tokyoflash Design Studio.
Customization is the theme with this concept watch design. Watches from Tokyoflash Japan are all original, unique designs but this design idea takes personalization to a different level.
The watch module is a touch screen LCD display and is a self contained unit, so it can be easily transferred between different watch cases, allowing you to more freedom to choose a color and a shape that suits you. This LCD concept watch design presents the time in negative space. The unlit spaces on the screen show digital numbers which are highlighted by the bright dots around them. It’s summer time and it’s hotting up outside, but be careful, UV levels are increasing and it’s important to protect yourself against excessive exposure to UV light which can cause sunburn, eye damage and skin cancer.

Firdaus says: “I wanted to create a ‘light performance’ with this wrist watch design. A set of focused light beams is shot onto the non glossy, dark surface to create an art performance that shows the time in hh/mm sequence. Inspired by the movie Stargate, this is a touch screen concept watch design. Just touch the screen and the outer 12 orange LEDs light up to indicate the hours, the minutes are indicated by the inner circle of 60 orange LEDs.

There is this cube which has six faces. The time in hh:mm:ss are six digits. Each of them placed on a face.
