(English) Astrolabe watch helps navigate though the space–time continuum

Anders says: Scribbling away one day, I sketched a display with curving lines across it. It looked to me like some sort of scanner display as seen in countless SF films. A few more lines and I had a concept; Astrolabe. The always-on OLED display adds visual punch.

Hydraulics Inspired Watch Design

Anders says that hydraulics has always fascinated him and he wanted to translate it into a watch design. He had the idea of a glass torus with two pistons, one fixed and one moving, telling time by pumping oil from one side of the pistons to the other while simultaneously rotating the whole torus. Magnetic Steel Watch Design

This watch design tells the time like a standard analog watch, the difference is in how it does it.  Everyone’s done the school physics experiment where you pour iron fillings on a paper with a magnet underneath.  Anders says that that was the inspiration for this concept.  A blank face sprinkled with steel particles. Andreas says: “I wanted time to speak through the shape and surface, so I looked at a grown piece of crystal, the perfect symbol for time, and transformed it into a relief surface of my watch. An Eastern Typographic OLED Watch Design

Devindh says: “This design combines 2 ideas. Stylistically it is influenced by the Mongolian tradition of reading and writing vertical text, a practice now common in other parts of Asia, including Japan. The second idea is based on the simple desire to protect the screen from scratches, making the piece more durable.

An LCD Watch Design For Squares

A simple time way to read the time, integrated into a simple case design. Laszlo suggests this design would use OLED to display the time but could alternatively use LCD blocks and then, like the Tokyoflash Rogue watch, could light up to highlight the time in green as on the example picture.
