Design submitted by Patrick from France.
Patrick says: “Some friends asked me for an analog watch design with multiple functions, so this is an analog watch. Reading time is the same as analog watch dial, but instead of being circular, it is deployed in two lines, so the reading system is the same. Read the rest of this entry »

Design submitted by Firdaus from Malaysia.
Firdaus says: “I wanted to create a ‘light performance’ with this wrist watch design. A set of focused light beams is shot onto the non glossy, dark surface to create an art performance that shows the time in hh/mm sequence. The wrist watch is controlled by sliding and gesturing the touch sensitive surface (see the animation in the video below). Read the rest of this entry »

Design submitted by Sam from Germany.
Sam says: “Two ideas inspired me to come up with this watch design. The first came from thinking about Japan a lot these days. I have seen people wearing the white space with the red dot (the Japanese flag) in many variations. Be it a sticker or a button or a cap. I wanted to design a wrist watch that reminds me, that there is always a future for Japan. Other people have their own thoughts about it… My second idea was to make a simple and unusual analog watch design.

Design submitted by Jordan from Canada.
Jordan says: “The simplest eye, such as one found in micro-organisms, does nothing but detect whether the surroundings are light or dark. This eye, however, doesn’t even do that. I wanted an eye-like watch face that was both minimalistic, and visually appealing. Read the rest of this entry »

Design submitted by Boris from Russia.
Boris says: “I thought about an easy way to understand what time is it now and wanted to combine this with something like retro style. In this LED watch design, wooden plates indicate the hour, and lights inside open to indicate the minutes passed in the current hour. Colored dots and stripes refers to the time of day, so you can always tell whether it is day, night or evening. Read the rest of this entry »

Design submitted by Andy from the Ukraine.
Andy says: “My idea is based on a ribbon bracelet and the shape of women’s fashion jewelry. It also looks like 2 leaves from a tree. The design is in the shape of 2 independent electronic parts – 1 for hours telling and 2 for minutes telling. This design would be ideal for people who love original design, fashion, style and original ways of displaying time.” Read the rest of this entry »

Design submitted by Nemoto san from Japan.
Nemoto san says: “This watch design is a collection of simple shapes, a group of geometric blocks. To understand how to read the time, take a look at the image below. It’s not too dissimilar to an analog clock. It should be pretty straight forward once you get used to it.

Design submitted by Jordan from Canada.
Jordan says: “With this watch design, I wanted something cool. Something that has a challenging reading method, paired with an awesome layout. The colors I chose are those found in many Tokyoflash watches. Orange/yellow for hours, red for multiple minutes, and green for single minutes.

Design submitted by Laszlo from Hungary.
A colorful binary LED watch design that uses six bi-color LEDs to display the time behind a sleek smoked black lens. Red LEDs indicate hours, yellow LEDs indicate minutes. Binary is simple to understand when you know how and this format of time telling allows for a minimal but unique time display.

Design submitted by Sam from Germany.
Sam says: “Two things guided me to make this watch design. The first thing was the idea to make a wrist watch that the wearer can adapt as they please. The second thing was, I thought about why should one use e-paper for a watch? It is just black and white, has no background light and doesn’t look spectacular at all. The big benefit is, it can show anything you want (within the restriction, e-paper has) and the black-white is pretty artistic actually, so it was the perfect display type for my idea. And the word “spectacular” is subjective, you decide how the display on your watch looks! This watch is your canvas… Read the rest of this entry »

Design submitted by Yamada san from Japan.
This submission, which seems relevant in the current climate, is reminiscent of the Radio Active watch design previously sold by Tokyoflash Japan. The nuclear themed display shows hours 1-12 across the bottom, groups of 5 minutes, 5-55 in the top left section and four single minutes in the radioactive symbol in the top right. The effect is something that looks like a display for measuring radiation levels. Read the rest of this entry »

Design submitted by Cory from the USA.
Cory says: “Golden Ratio, known also as Phi or Fibonacci proportion, is pervasive throughout nature. φ is the mathematical symbol for it and it forms a beautiful loop called the Golden Spiral. You can see it in everything from tiny sea horses, nautilus shells, ram’s horns, the human face, and even galaxies. It is now also represented in this analog watch design. The Cactus is an LED watch design, but it has a clever feature. When the lights illuminate to display the time, they point in the direction of the hour, group of 10 minutes and single minute enabling time reading to be that much easier whilst at the same time giving you a truly original and artistic watch design.
