Devindh says: I wanted to design a watch that had an emphasis on texture as well as displaying time. I decided that the angular pattern of digital displays would provide a good way to combine both of these things.

Firdaus says: This analogue watch design is inspired by nature aspect of Gaia.
Time telling is completely straight forward analogue. Smallest hand indicates hour, the bigger hand indicates minute and the biggest hand indicates second.

I found a wall clock that looks like solid block of wood, but is actually a thin wood veneer over LEDs. As soon as i saw it I knew that I wanted it on my wrist.
The design is simple. A thin wood veneer covers LEDs, when you press the button the LEDs light up and the time shines through the wood. The time itself is as clear as possible, it’s just like a normal digital watch.

Cory says: While viewing a droplet of water on high speed camera, I noticed two things. Each time the droplet enters the water, a smaller, lighter droplet bounces back to the surface, this happens many times over until the droplet is microscopic in size. Water droplets are also not tear drop shaped, but perfectly spherical. I wanted to make a timepiece that captured this.

Anders says: I was trying to find something new, thinking about ratios of rotation for each hand. An image of three sprockets came to mind, each with a ratio of 60:61 relative to the one before. Thus the minute hand rotates one revolution more than the second hand every minute.

A very pleasing atheistic to this watch we felt. Although not the norm for TF designs, we couldn’t resist the satisfying feeling that flip action would give as the minutes topple over.

Peter says : I wanted to come up with a time telling method that involves combining two symbols or shapes to create digital numbers. The result is a simple rotating disc that when combined with a viewing window shows a single digit.

Sam says: “Derezzed” is the past tense of “derezz” which is a shortened form or “deresolute”. It means “disappear” or in terms of virtual media, “dissolve into pixels”. I had the idea, to let a watch derezz in the case area, revealing the time telling display.
