Sam says: This time I liked to make an expressive watch based upon a pyramid. I was inspired by the theory, that the big pyramid in Giza (also: Gize, Gizeh) or mayan pyramids were build by aliens. The pyramids influence architecture in sci-fi movies so why not a watch? This I thought a futuristic alien pyramid watch would be cool.

Peter says: This is “Tri-ripple” a 12-5-9 format based watch. I wanted to come up with a simple 12-5-9 format watch that had a alien/spacey feel.

Sam says: This concept began experimentally with sketching for hexagon based numbers. After a while, the numbers developed into these round ones, that consist of six circle segments and a center dot. I played with the number layout and soon everything reminded me of some sci-fi technology.

Sam says: The inspiration for this concept comes from barcodes. My idea was to use a barcode not just as stylish display element but to tell the time in a way, the wearer can actually decipher. In the industry next to the bars also the gaps between them contain information. This watch concept uses this principle. Continue reading

Laszlo says: After a short animation the time indicates with traditional LED segments. There are two different mode available: mirrored or easy.
The upper digits shows the hours (or months), and the lower digits stands for the minutes (or days).

Peter says: This is “Artifact” an object found on a newly colonised planet. Its origins and primary purpose are unknown. Its believe this is a relic of a lost advanced civilisation destroyed by its own creations. The science and tech division have discovered that one of its basic functions can be used to tell the time. Yoann says : i was watching a series on tv and i noticed that strange ancient symbols are often used in some movies, video games and other sci-fi stories and i told myself “why don’t make a watch concept with this ?”
So i tried something on my photo edit software and i found simply by superimposing two inverted number it make a cool alien/ancient looking symbol.

Sam says: “Derezzed” is the past tense of “derezz” which is a shortened form or “deresolute”. It means “disappear” or in terms of virtual media, “dissolve into pixels”. I had the idea, to let a watch derezz in the case area, revealing the time telling display.
