Justin says: I was browsing through a friends mathematics coursework and saw graphs, bar graphs, charts and numbers etc and I noticed how easy it would be to assign the basics of time telling to one of these simple looking forms.

“Booster-Watch” is a watch with LEDs with various reading programs of the hour.

Jacques says: In a quest for a minimalistic watch I excluded all time reading functionality from the front of the watch and placed it on the side.
It’s actually just a very minimalistic watch on where the time can be read on the side. The dot light represents the hour hand and the ring light the minute hand. The time can be read rather easy but this of course also depends on the hour of the day.
The time reading functionality on the side leaving the front blank, creates a surprising effect, compared to the many watches that have frontal displays with numerous clocks and pointers etc.

Patrick says: When I had presented my “Kuranku-Watch”, comments are deferred mainly on brittleness of crank (even if it activates only LEDs), thus for the “Switch-Watch”, the handle is much more “muscular”.

Justin says: I was doing the usual search on the internet for inspiration, logos, weird shapes or scientific influences and I saw the Cern logo (The LHC or Large Hadron Collider) and I was intrigued by the swirl effect and how lines ran off of it. That simple shape gave the impression of movement and velocity…thus, Centrifuge was born.

Sam says: The idea for Invasion came at the time when I worked on Vein. Both concepts share the idea of letting the end of a line represent an analog watch display number.

Pater says: This design is inspired by the modern trend in car design for LED head lights.
These new lights are becoming far more futuristic, detailed and elaborate than the more traditional bulb and reflector type that they replace. Its this futuristic elaborate look that made me think of watch displays and how this could be incorporated.

Laszlo says: I like to look at close up images on the printing process. I really like the way the tiny little dots creates the image.
This inspired me to design this LED watch. It is a LED version of my previous LCD watch design: Blur.
