Patrick says: It is a project inspired of the “Rotate-Watch” and the “Koinshidensu-Watch”.
The “Rocking-Watch” makes coincide enigmatic pieces of LED, so that they form readable figures. It is necessary to look at the watch perpendicular to its vision and to make it swivel, towards outside, in line with arm, until the figures are formed to give the hour. Several animations are programmable. AM-PM – Display the hour and the date – Mode of alarm – Unisex design for small and large the wrists.
Peter says: For a while now I have thought about creating a watch using Topography as an inspiration. “Topography is a field of geoscience and planetary science comprising the study of surface shape and features of the Earth” This is often shown using curved lines to show the shape and lie of the land at it’s various altitudes.
It was only when I did an internet search I found that someone had beat me to it. The existing design uses the Topographic element as a decoration on an analogue watch face. So I decided to make a digital design using the Topographic element as the time telling.
Brad says: Video games have long been a part of my life. Today’s games have incredible graphics and story telling power, but some of the real old school games are the ones that made big impressions on me. This is a watch designed to honor some of the old shooter arcade games. This is the Genesis.
Peter says: I was doing some sketching and scribbled a simple 12/5/9 display layout made up of three ellipses. This simple layout had a slightly alien look to it that could interpreted as some kind of unidentified flying object, or some yet undiscovered creature from the deepest and darkest parts of the oceans. Hence the name “Batiodea” (Batoidea is a superorder of cartilaginous fish commonly known as rays)
Josh says: I have been always fascinated by “infinity mirrors”, and watches, so I thought “why don’t I combine them?” after a bit of hard work, (and frustration with the modelling software I was using) this is what I came up with. I do apologize for the slightly horrible picture.
