Codex Cube LCD watch design with triangular digits.

Firdaus & Heather say: The display for this LCD watch concept, Codex Cube, was inspired by the Kisai 3D Unlimited display. By using triangular digits (originally developed for our previous Codex submission) instead of rectangular ones, we can display two digits on each “face”, allowing room for hours, minutes, and alas, the ever-changing seconds.

Tricircle LCD watch (update)

Peter says: This is an LCD version of Tricircle. I wanted to improve the feasibilty of manufacture of this design by using technology familiar to Tokyoflash. This version uses a Mirror LCD like 3D Unlimited in conjuction with a Lens (3D) in the shape of the rings used in the original analogue version. S-Line mystic watch predicts the time.

Peter & Sam say: The idea for this concept originates from the Ouija board and the practice of a message being created, influenced by an invisible force.

The watch tells the time using a similar principle. The face has a series of numbers and symbols which are highlighted by a lens which moves around the face by an invisible force, constructing a ‘sequence’ of numbers which, when assembled in ones mind, communicates the time. Continue reading
