Peter says: This is “Tri/5/9” a back to basics 12/5/9 LED design.
I was trying to think of a simple and intuitive 12/5/9 watch and the most logical format I could think of was a triangular layout. One side for hours, one for tens of minutes and one for single minutes.

Lewis says: The idea was to combine a simple, functional display with futuristic weapon grade design. I took inspiration from video games and films set in clean metallic futures such as Halo, Titanfall and Tron. the idea for the display came with the shape of the chassis, it needed to be long and symmetrical to make use of the space.

Ignacio says: I always dream with minimalist and cool watches, with no clock hands and very few elements.
Red Sector is one of those dreams, where simplex, technology and design are mixed to create a futuristic and outlaw watch.

Justin says: Ive had this design in my Sketch-Pad for a while & cant remember how it originated, it probably started off as a hexagon and evolved from that. I may have been watching something on TV about germs or Micro-Organisms which influenced the design.

Matt says: One day I saw a crown on a box. It was made of 21 slightly vertical lines and 5 unconnected dots.
I’ve choose to used the crown for the hours, with a 24H format. I’ve added 2 segments to it and I’ve replaced the unconnected dots by connected rectangles & used them as markers, at 1, 6, 12, 18 & 23.

Anders & Peter say: Time, they say, is constant … linear … consistent ~ well, everyone but theoretical physicists anyway. But the way we experience or perceive time can be anything but consistent.
When we are enjoying ourselves time is said to fly by, when we are bored time seems to slow down and drag.
“Relativity” is a watch concept that hopes to make this subjective perception of time visible.

Firdaus says: There are many skull inspired watches including luxury ones, most of them are mechanical analog watches. Skull art whilst may represent heavy and Gothic theme actually remind us of natural element of Life – Death. This is LCD watch design for Tokyoflash Japan, code named – Requiem.

Justin says: I wanted to strip away as much as possible when it came to designing this watch. Hexagons seem popular, so I began with that. Then I gradually took it down to the minimum amount of LED’s whilst still retaining that ever so crucial “ease of use”.

Peter says: I was trying to think of ways to make cryptic digits using an LCD display consisting of simple blocks which could be easily animated. A graphic equalizer instantly came to mind.
