An LED Watch Design For Steampunk Hypnotists

Design submitted by Logan from the USA.

Another inspiring concept from Logan here. It’s so simple, when we first saw it, we weren’t sure if it had enough elements to display the time – it appears to be one long spiral. But read on!

Watch The LED Flower Watch Design Bloom

Design submitted by Christophe from France.

This is far out man! We’ve definitely not seen anything quite like this on the Tokyoflash Design Studio Blog yet but we like the fun, playful vibe. It’s colors are psychadelic and kaleidoscopic – do you dig this design?

Christophe says: “Use the flowers to read the time. It’s a flower watch and we can read the hours with two flowers but a litle draw is better than a long text. Finally a watch more feminine.”

Tokyo Groove LED Watch Design with 'Quick Read'

Design submitted by Devindh from the UK.

Devindh says: “I studied your existing catalogue of watches and looked at the media coverage (fashion magazines). I combined some of the linear design elements with a bit of glamour, hence the name ‘Tokyo Groove’. Reading the time is easy compared to most of the ideas that have been submitted so far. The watch features a red duotone digital display indicating minutes. 12 ‘cross bars’ are tipped with LED indicators showing the hour numerals. The version shown in the main render is ‘quick read’. A second version replaces the conventional numerals with pure coloured tiles. A different colour is displayed for each hour. This is a design for anybody who likes to be different/unusual. It combines modern styling with some conventional elements giving it a broad appeal.

Warsaw – Inspired by Waclaw Sierpinsk

Design submitted by Logan from the USA.

This is another unique and intriguing design from Logan.  The concept was inspired by Waclaw Sierpinsk and Logan describes it as “12 triangular segments inside a triangular watch face, as 3 triangular groups of 4 segments.   Top group indicates hours, bottom left group indicates 10-minute groups, bottom right group indicates single minutes”.

Cobra – A Deadly LED Watch Design

Design submitted by Kristian from Sweden.

A “driver’s style” LED watch design here that Kristian describes as follows: “The Cobra Concept is a two deck drivers style LED watch, with LED bars showing minutes on one deck, and hours on the other. The numbers are engraved on each deck, which makes time visible from the side and from above the watch.”

This reptilian concept has sharp lines on the case and strap creating the appearance of scales. We like this concept as it’s really different from anything else submitted so far – quite an original theme

Get Your Favorite Watch Design On and Get Downtown

Design submitted by Jeanne from the USA

Jeanne describes “Downtown” as: “A battery-powered atomic watch with a bright LED screen to display the time, the date in addition to a compass. The main time screen is based on a downtown night with three tall buildings, a traffic light, and even a taxi cab, and optional cloud to display the time. The date screen shows you the dates of yesterday, today, and tomorrow in traffic light colors and in your choice of language. The same colors are also used in the compass screen, so you will always know where you are going and when you need to be there! The design is cryptic yet simple for anyone to enjoy! The watch band is rubber and comes in four different colors: black, grey, dark green, and navy blue.”

Helix – The Ideal Watch Design For The Geneticist

Design submitted by Logan from the USA.

A fascinatingly beautiful and biological looking concept from Logan here. He says: “This idea is surprisingly simple to read; there are three segments; hours, 10-minute groups, and single-minutes and one segment of the single-minute shape is used for AM/PM.”

The display is like the structure of DNA with the blue lines showing hours 1-12, groups of 5 minutes in yellow and single minutes with green dots. It would look really bright and energetic with colored LEDs against the black screen. This method of telling the time is particularly logical as the time progresses in one direction and as the time increases the number of lights increases.

Squares – An Artistic Minimal LED Watch Design

Design submitted by Kevin from the UK.

Kevin says: “This design is based on a watch I bought from Tokyoflash a few years ago. It’s all about minimalism. The time can be worked out from the bare minimum number of 25 lit or unlit squares arranged into a perfectly square grid.”

This is indeed a beautiful, clean and minimal concept from Kevin. The display looks like a piece of modern art – that would constantly change color as time progresses. With added LED colors, this design could have the appearance of a 70’s dance floor. Which theme do you prefer?

Arctime Challenges Your Pattern Recognition Skills

Design submitted by Logan from the USA.

Logan describes his “Arctime” watch design as a “Dissection of the clock into 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12 arcs, fit compactly into a square.  Each arc has three segments not shared by other arcs, which are blue to indicate hours, yellow to indicate groups of 5 minutes, or green when an overlap is necessary to tell the time.  The four small segments where the arcs intersect indicate single minutes, and their color can always be chosen (blue, green, or yellow) to be different than the hour and 5-minute segments.”
