Pater says: This design is inspired by the modern trend in car design for LED head lights.

These new lights are becoming far more futuristic, detailed and elaborate than the more traditional bulb and reflector type that they replace. Its this futuristic elaborate look that made me think of watch displays and how this could be incorporated.

Andrew says: The following concept is my attempt at digital sports / activity monitor wrist watch. This design incorporates both a pulse sensor built-in to the bracelet / strap & kinetic motion sensors in the watch face. The pulse combined with the amount of movement gauges the user mood & this alters the color of control buttons & LED back light. I call this concept: Impulse

Incognito – The fashion bracelet with a secret second life.

Peter says: It may come to a surprise to TF fans and blog submitters alike, but believe it or not not everyone wears watches. Many don’t particularly like them and prefer to wear jewellery or leather bracelets etc. For that reason I decided to design a simple concept based on a cuff style leather bracelet that looks and feels like a leather bracelet but has a covert LED watch built in, “Incognito” was born

Splinter LED watch with vertical animating display

Peter says: This design is a back to basics LED (could be LCD) watch which features a narrow column of lights to describe the time. This narrow column of lights gives the watch a minimalistic – futuristic and mysterious look. Ideally this column would be semi transparent both front and back to show a hint of the internals and let light glow thru even when the display is off. The narrow dimension of the display allows for the material and finishes to do the talking.
