Introducing a fun concept watch design with an original display that should appeal to anyone with an inquisitive mind. The square-shaped colored LCD screen is made up of a a number of mysterious markings. Cory says: “Optical illusions are interesting because they manipulate our imperfect perceptions. While browsing through several optical illusion sites, I ran across Pinna’s Intertwining Illusion. Discovered by Baingio Pinna of the University of Sassari in Italy, the circles appear to spiral and intersect, but are in fact an orderly set of concentric circles”. Continue reading

This watch design is a continuous-band watch like Tokyoflash Fire or Shinshoku, but the pattern of the holes/LEDs is essentially a binary tree. This makes it easier to read the minutes by comparing to the obvious locations of minutes 2, 4, 8, 16, and 32. Continue reading
