Orbe LED Watch Design – The Perfect Circle

Design submitted by Víctor from Spain.

This design is inspired by the concept of unity. The circle, symbol of the sun, creates rhythm on the watch, it begins from the centre moving out to the edge, the multiplicity of the sun rays interpreted as hours, increase the shape of the watch. This makes relations between the one, symbolizing the perfection of the simplicity, and the eternity.

Squared LED Watch Design

Design submitted by Maciej from Poland.

Maciej has put together a simple watch design with a fun way of reading the time.  His target is to surprise people when they realize how easy and obvious it is to read the time.

Time is shown in rectangular LEDs beneath a mirrored glass.  It has a total of 40 squares which light up creating a layout of numbers in digits.  It has a variation of colors that can be customized to fit your mood and style.

Moebius Ring Watch Design Concept

Design submitted by Anders from Sweden.

Designed as a moebius ring, this watch design has two rings – the hour ring and the minute ring.  The hour ring is divided into two helix shapes, each with twelve sections.  The minute ring is divided into three shapes with ten sections each.

Screens light up when one button on the hinge is pressed.  Pressing both opens the watch.  Hours are in blue LEDs for 18:00-05:00, yellow for 06:00-17:00.  Minutes are shown in three groups of ten, yellow equals one minute, blue two minutes.  A ‘full’ group turns yellow.

Warp Watch Concept

Design submitted by Logan from the USA.

Logan’s latest watch concept creates a sense of depth and motion in this warp-themed display making the watch come into life.

Count the lit rings for hour, add six if the dot is lit.  The outer two rings contain five and nine segments to indicate the tens and single minutes.  There is also a spectacular animation where the five and nine segments animate as a countdown, then the inner rings to show warp travel.

ixtrio watch concept

Submitted by Augustin from Switzerland

The idea of the X shape comes from a traffic light’s sign (the red one) I was staring at this sign for long minutes, highly concentrated, to make it become green… my thinking slowly derivated far from the goal, but reached an unexpected idea…

The result of the 3 X and the other digits is nicely geometrical and lets many possibilities to display time, date, chrono and may be other functions. Despite a completely different way of displaying time than the classic hands, I think it is still easy to read. With training, it even must be quite quick to get it. Isn’t it the spirit of Tokyoflash ?

Liquid Plasma Watch Design

Design submitted by Pasquale from Italy.

This is an extraordinary watch concept from Pasquale.  It is like a time experiment where liquid is pumped to the transparent tubes to display time in three quadrants.  The clear glassy exterior of the watch including the strap presents this design in a delicate and fragile finish.  It also has a dangerous feel in it that makes it an overall exciting watch design.  Absolutely for those wanting to be different.

Kryptonic LED Watch Design

A new concept from the Tokyoflash Design Studio.

This watch design has both bits of kryptonite and Predator concepts, which gives it a feeling of one of a kind, out of this world design. The multiple levels give it a control panel feel while the italic font flows nicely under the beveled glass lens. Small pieces of acrylic rise out of the stainless coated casing giving it a whole new dimension to the kryptonite.

Design submitted by Isaac from Mexico.

Based on the Mayan vigesimal number system, this LED watch concept is both futuristic and elegant with its sleek bracelet-type band, yellow LEDs, and small color accents bordering the watch.

Lines are in units of 5, points in single units, center red points in twenties.  2 short lines indicate AM/PM.  The upper lines indicate hours and lower lines indicate minutes.

Buckled LED Watch Design

Design submitted by Devindh from UK.

This design is partly inspired by the ‘Tokyoflash Waku’ range and partly inspired by Apple’s integration of LEDs into their products. Devindh says, “I like the way Apple has created micro holes that are very unobtrusive, but allow the LEDs to draw attention once they are lit”.

This concept bridges the gap between jewelry and timepieces in a “buckle style” watch. The hour indicators are micro drilled to form a central focus of the watch. The outer rim divides the minutes into two sets of 30 that are visible through pierced slots. The minutes are etched onto the casing.
