Stylistically it is influenced by the Mongolian tradition of reading and writing vertical text, a practice now common in other parts of Asia, including Japan. The second idea is based on the simple desire to protect the screen from scratches, making the piece more durable.
Kisai Satellite is the second concept to become reality from the Tokyoflash Design Studio Blog. Originally called Sensha, the conceptual idea for Satellite was posted on the blog in May 2010.

Press the button on your Tokyoflash Stargazer and show her Orion in glowing LEDs behind the smoked black lens. Turn the knob and scroll through all the constellations visible that night, searching together for each one in the sky.
