Section – Segmented LED Watch Design

Design submitted by Logan from the USA.

Whoa!  Logan’s ideas are just overflowing!  We have here twelve square segments combined to form a rectangular shaped display.  The LEDs illuminate clockwise from the top left to count 1-12 (all off for 0).  Hours are displayed first, then tens of minutes, and single minutes.

Across Time LED Watch Design

Design submitted by Logan from the USA.

Like Logan’s design, “Arctime”, this watch design is a rearrangement of a traditional watch display brought forward into something futuristic.

We were lost at first on how to read the time but Logan explains it as “Two lines across the watch face tell the time. Imagine the hands of a traditional watch, anchored not at the center of the dial, but at two points on the perimeter. Those hands become LED lines to mark the hours (blue) and 5-minute groups (red). The minute line flashes 1-4 times to indicate times not ending in 0 or 5”. Sounds way too complicated but give it a moment and you’ll see how straightforward it is.

The Koi – LED watch design with a touch of Japanese

Design submitted by Anna from Australia.

Anna has appealingly incorporated the koi fish to this simple and beautiful design.  She says “I wanted to incorporate a symbol that I believe epitomizes something inherently iconic within Japanese culture”.

The image is embossed on a silver watch face and scales will light up on each fish indicating the relevant time.  The minimalistic design will surely appeal to a variety of people and Anna believes that such design will allow the watch to be worn in all situations, from everyday to evening wear.

Cinematic Zoom LED Watch

Design submitted by Logan from the USA.

Logan continues to surprise us with his big ideas and here’s another one inspired by cinematic zooms.  He describes it as his most conventional design with the segmented display pulsating to reveal each digit.  Asked why this design stands out from other designs, he says “It is so easy to read that it could have broad appeal, but still an interesting showcase for the beauty of the LED”.

B-Circuit Watch Design – B Version Rewired

Design submitted by Maciej Mandrysz from Poland.

Another exciting and creative concept from Maciej. He says “This is a tribute to one of the best Tokyoflash products: the B-version watch. Orange LEDs combined with a circuit board pattern is something that will be a real attention grabber. The design is very clean and modern without any wicked or crazy shape, something I think many people will appreciate.”

Madrix – LED watch in black

Design submitted by Adriano from France.

Adriano envisions this watch in black metal with white LEDs.  He wants to create a simple design that is both sophisticated and discreet, and he manages to attain this with the clean lines and conventional look of this watch.  The star-shaped arrangement of the LEDs is very unique and how Adriano designated the hours and minutes on each LED is quite impressive, with the middle circles showing 6-hour and 30-minute timings.

Broken Digital LED Watch

Design submitted by Mattia from Italy.

We are simply awestruck with Mattia’s bizarre idea for time telling.  He tells us this idea came up when he noticed that the numbers of lines used in classic digital clocks matches perfectly to the 12+11+4 system used in some Tokyoflash watches.

Reading time may not be as easy as digital clocks but it’s far from complicated.  The upper section tells the number of hours and single minutes, lower section tells the minutes in groups of five and indicates am/pm; and is also separated in groups of 15 minutes.  It’s an easy read!

2000200202 LED Watch – The future of 1000100101

Design submitted by Francisco from Chile.

Francisco’s reinterpretation of one of his favorite Tokyoflash watches, the 100100101, is a unique art piece with its shaped surface and elegant form.  He describes it as being made from a solid aluminum block which is carefully perforated creating different models of holes with only some of them lighted up to show the time and date.  It keeps the solid block, leather strap, and multicolor LEDs of the 1000100101.

Snap Ring – A Watch Design From Another Galaxy

Design submitted by Patrick from France.

A very futuristic design, it almost reminds us of a Star Trek spaceship.  The design is very sleek with its glassy and smooth surface, and the snap ring strap is perfect for the whole concept.  The single-colored LEDs on its plain exterior make the watch simple yet catchy.  Red LED on a black casing would definitely stand out for this design.
