Stealth II alien artefact doubles as wristwatch

Design submitted by Peter from the UK.

Peter says: This concept is an evolution of an earlier design called “stealth” .

The original “stealth” concept featured a triangular shaped watch body with three displays showing the time in a choice of digital and digital analogue formats. This concept retains those features but with a more alien bio-engineered steathy shape.

The time as per the original concept is told by three LCD displays (or one LCD display with a cover dividing it into three) showing the time in a selection of digital and digital analogue formats. I have also included an example of an LED analogue version to cover all the bases.

This design has an alien looking bio-engineered feel that may appeal to those who like sci-fi looking devices and technology. This concept in the right materials would also have a sculpted jewellery feel which may appeal to the more adventurous ladies.

The alien triangular form combined with a selection of time telling methods, sets this concept from others.

  1. Awesome! Love the chevron connections for the strap, the uni-body feeling & very sleek styling.
I’d wear this, particularly the last version in matt off-white.

It got me thinking… imagine if the display had a light sensor so in a bright environment it shows LCD. In a dark environment the LED lights up. You can use your finger to cover the display area to trigger the light up too!
Battery issues ~ but if there were a clever way to manage how it works it could be a fun mode. (perhaps 2 batteries, one for LED one for LCD) – just thinking out loud 😉

    • Cheers for posting and commenting Toky! Im glad you likey!
Matt white would be a nice choice.
Regards the LCD/LED suggestion, I like the idea of the hybrid mix of the two techs. Like you suggest there could be a Jekyll and Hyde theatrical element here. And or they could also be used in conjunction like on my recent trinary concept where the two techs could tell different information at the same time depending on the users preference. And if it is possible to have two batteries (one regular battery for LCD and a rechargeable one for LED. If the LED dies the LCD will live on until the next charge. Plenty of potential here (I hope) cheers 😀

    • Cheers Olivier, Always nice to see unfamiliar (non-regulars) commenters here. Its a good sign, cheers for the support! 😀

  2. I prefer this to the original, which itself was a great design.
The key thing here will be the depth of the watch – needs to be enough to deliver the fantastic look and give a large enough face, while not being too large.
Of the displays, I think the first (hours and mins) looks the most appropriate. The HMS displays look somewhat cluttered. I can’t read the 12/11/4 analogue ones (but I may like this best if I could). The LED display is really good, but too bright for a stealth machine! How about an LCD display using the LED format?
I’d like to see a version with a more ‘bio’ texture, but of those shown, sign me up for a black one – the blue display looks good, but a green one would be my choice. Good luck.

    • Cheers for the support Nev, Maybe if LEDs were used there could be a brightness setting so they could be set at the preferred stealthy level. Cool suggestion for the bio-texture. I could imagine a metallic scaley finish like an exotic fish or snake. Cheers for the feedback sir! 😀

  3. Nice, Pete! I’d like to see a couple more versions where the face is a different texture than the band, to suggest that you’re seeing a cross-section of a conduit around your wrist. Perhaps that justifies modeling an additional ‘outer layer’ edge around the face. I’d like to see a white band with an back-lit amber LCD display!

    • I know what you mean about the area around the display. Would mean that the moulding in that area could be common to all colours and finishes and add an extra finish/texture in that area. Cool suggestion sir! 😀

    • Slight modification to the display with a black framing detail. I don’t know if this is exactly what you had in mind but it adds a more technical look to the display. 🙂

  4. Whoa…very nice looking design. Worth the money just for the look of it I’d say. Looks like a storm troopers wet dream!!
Loving the watch/strap colors on the 2nd pic down but would like purpley blue watch face on it. 5/Y
    Very envious cad work buddy!

  5. LUV IT!!! I love it as much as the original, for different reasons maybe but the amount of love is the same. I really want this or the other one on my wrist. So sci-filicious ❤ 5*/▼◄■

    • Yeah the first couple of images showing just the hours and minutes in digital form is clearest mode, but the display layout would be able to show all the suggested modes so the wearer could choose.
I’m glad you would consider buying if it went the distance 🙂

      • I like the having multiple modes in 1 watch! It would be possible to customize the LED’s color.

I made a mistake: I said that I prefer the LED & they are all using LED’s!!

I meant the last 2 pictures!

I love the “stained glass window” look. (& church-like)

      • The first images are intended to be backlit LCD with the last couple of images being LED. But I know which ones you mean now. I hadn’t thought of it looking like a stained glass window, it’s always cool to see how others see the concept. Cheers again for the feedback! 😀

      • Backlit LCD make it better. You get the best of 2 worlds: The appearance of LED’s and the practicality of LCD’s!

However, the last one look to nice as a LED to be LCD backlit!

  6. I don’t like the H/M/S & analog. The digits/segments seem like they’ll be too small. Or something else disturb me…

Then I realize that I have some similar displays in my sketchbook (6-8) but no idea for the overall look of the watch. ( Being unable to figure out the dimensions of various thing made me put it in my “for later” folder. )

Any opinions on these 2 can be biased & therefore invalid.

A case like this would work, depending on the dimensions of the segments/case!

    • Yeah the case shape is cool if it can be kept slim/sleek enough to be worn. I think it could be, the angle of the will ultimately dictate the overall thickness. The more raked the face can be the lower the profile of the watch could be. Fingers crossed TF choose to look at this further 🙂
