Design submitted by Patrick from France.
Patrick says: The idea came looking for an elegant watch for both women and men, with a slightly cryptic reading like as my “Fuji-Watch“.
The “NEAT-Watch” is an analog watch. The large bars of reading are divided into 6 parts, starting from the center, the longest bar indicate the hours, then the part a little smaller indicate the minutes “5, 10,15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55” and the 4 small ones remaining bars, indicate the minutes alone; added, they go from 1 to 4 minutes additional.
By pressing a button, an animation is active, in ending on the exact time (choice of several animations, see my “Radius-Watch“). Quickly press 2 times in a row , we avoid the animation by going directly to the correct time.
Programming enables entertainment every quarter hour or every half hour or every hour, this animation can be selectively coupled with the alarm or the alarm can operate without LED lit. The alarm can be activated in a repetitive manner (every quarter hour, every half hour etc.). The alarm can obviously operate without repetition and the exact desired time.
Recharging the battery is done via USB. (A motion detector as my “Convex-Watch” would be great.)
Displays the time and date – Alarm mode – Motion sensor (can be turned off) – USB rechargeable: unscrew & connect to your computer.
The “NEAT-Watch” is designed for women and men elegant and refined.
The “NET-Watch” is elegant and with sober shapes is very easy to read after a quick explanation.
A very nice design Patrick, i like it alot. Easy to read, simple yet elegant, it has it all. The best bit for me…the shooty spinning cannon animation, maybe you can have that activate by accelerometer when you shake your arm abit lol.
5* and take my money!!

What would the tens of the hours look like (11:50, 12:00).
LikeLike
Hi Vincent, it’s like an analog watch for 11:50, it is the large bar near the center of the 11 (or 55) and the bar for 5 minutes on the 50 (or 10). For 12:00 it is only the hour bar on 12 vertically.
I hope my explanation is understandable?

It looks great, Patrick.
I’m not sure about the 10:03 example. The 5-minute bar is not shown and the 1-minute bars are linked to the position of the hour bar. I would have expected the 5-minute bar to be displayed at the 12 o’clock/0 minute position with the 3 minutes linked to that. It works either way, but the current display does not seem to follow the same rules as other times.
Anyway, this one should definitely get made and I would want one. Good luck and, of course, 5*/Y.

Hi Nev, thank you for your comment interesting and your vote.
I wanted to associate the bar of the hours with those of the minutes alone, to simplify the reading, but the minutes alone can be displayed anywhere on the dial, because the position of these minutes alone, does not have an influence for the reading.

Neat is right, very clean and sober. =) I like it, but I can’t help thinking that you might as well make the minute bar point to the exact minute, and not bother with the 4 single minute blocks. But then you wouldn’t get the ‘8-bit cannon’ animation, so yeah, keep ’em in! =) Good luck!

Hi Anders, thank you for your comment interesting and your vote.
If I spend the minutes alone on the dial with their effective place of analog reading, it will anyway give 1 point, for one minute, 2 points for 2 minutes etc, up to 4 minutes. For the five minutes, the exact position is obligatory.

Very nice, Patrick! You could include a game, top button moves cannon counter-clockwise and bottom button moves cannon clockwise, and have the outer most minute lit at all numbers and have the animated hour hand shoot them out one by one for additional amusement!

Neat indeed. While I’d like to see a bit more going on on the display, I appreciate the minimalistic style. I like the reflective and pure glass and the LED time shining through. The animation is really cool. I like Xian’s idea about including a game. Good luck monsieur 🙂

Hi Sam, thank you for your comment and your vote.
Deliberately, I wanted to put a minimum of LED to indicate the time, but it would be possible to light the preceding LED the hour, until the exact hour, by using more energy.
The proposal Xian is actually very good.

I like the overall look, the division of the lines and the animation. The “cannon” game seem interesting. I would buy. (choosing the LED’s colors would be harder than with the original)
On the 10:03 picture (2nd picture): the 3 single minute block could be at 12 o’clock so they don’t do a big jump when passing from 04 to 05! It might be a problem if the time change when it’s on.
5*

I kinda agree with him. Except that I think that the 5min bar shouldn’t appear.
