Design submitted by Peter from the UK.
Peter says: This is “Discus LCD”, an LCD version of my analogue “Discus” design. The styling is influenced by retro sci-fi as well as more modern sci-fi films.
The time is told in a conventional LCD analogue style. The display is framed by a 3D lens in a similar shape to the domed plastic discs of the original design. The Lens is made of transparent plastic cladded with accents to match the case material. This allows the backlight to glow thru where the LCD blocks are turned off and around the diameters like the original design.
This watch has a sci-fi combined with a retro look. The time telling is conventional and nothing is too extreme to scare away to many TF fans. This watch may appeal to “seven” owners as it shares some imagery.
The style combined with conventional time telling along with hopeful feasibility will let this design stand out from others.
Cheers TF for adding both versions of Discus to the blog! 😀

I wanted the black/orange version of the analogue watch. Now I want the black/green one of the LCD version too! TK must produce at least one of them. 5Y

Hi Pete I like this one too. 😉 I gave you 5Y earlier. I think I’d go for LCD cos it will have some cool animations etc. hehe Why don’t you submit both versions together in future? Just a thought. 😉 Good luck with it.

Hi Mushy, I did the analogue version before I thought about an LCD version. They were both submitted some time ago. I guess I could have asked TF to merge the two versions into one post but I didn’t think about it to be honest. I’m glad you likey sir and cheers for the vote! 😀

No worries Pete. I just thought it would mean you could get more different ideas on the blog. 🙂

Cheers for the thought Mushy. I would also be happy for TF to merge submissions together like that one of Timur’s posts with three or four designs on one post.

The problem is…I would want to throw this as far away as possible. It is a discus after all! 5y

Maybe the watch should come with a elastic cord connected to a bracelet so it always comes back to you like a tron disc or boomerang! lol

I prefer this version. Here, the inverted H/S make sense because the smaller ring would be harder to divide by 60. I prefer multiple lights off. (like the 2nd blue model)
My fav is the green & black.

Yeah this one was a bit simpler to decide on the order as the density of the LCD dictated it really. This version would give more display options and modes. Hopefully one version will appeal to the TF gods! 😀 Cheers for liking and cheers for the support! 😀

Oh I like the red/chrome one the most. Great color and material combination! I’m not sure if the time telling is striking enough but it surely is easy to read and good looking. I cross my fingers for you!!

Can’t argue with any points there. This is probably more main stream than hard core TF. Hopefully there is room in the world for a little Discus fun! x^^x
