Max6Zero watch inspired by The Black Hole movie

Design submitted by Peter from the UK.

Peter says:ย This is “Max6Zero” after a robot from the film “The black hole”

The design came about when I was looking at a rectangular recess on one of the machines at the gym, this recess presumably is for resting items on like your mp3 player when your working out. The shape reminds me a little of bonnet scoop shape on a performance orientated car and has a simple but dynamic look. It seemed to lend itself to a watch display and here we are. When I created the form on a watch strap the display shape reminded me of the robot “Maximillion”s eye from the film mentioned above, which inspired its the watches name.

The time telling is a very straight forward digital 12/5/9 format. The top of the display shows the hours, the left part of the display shows the tens of minutes and the right part of the display shows single minutes.

The watch is slim in proportion and will hopefully suite all wrist sizes. The look is sleek and has a sci-fi feel which will hopefully keep old-school TF fans happy whilst the conventional time telling gives the design mass appeal.

I think the simple form and sleek look allows this design to stand out from the crowd.

  2. I would buy this. It might be the 2nd most wanted watch for me. The HAL 9000 watch being number one.
    Great work, and design. Amazing.

  3. Good one! The recessed display is a very nice touch, it feels fresh. The time telling is simple and clear, but maybe a tad too simple, to be honest. Regardless, good work!

  4. Well done Pete on your latest wristwatch concept it may not appeal to those who want a more of a cryptic display. But so what it looks great. Although acording to my research the robot iin the Disney Film The Black Hole is called Maximilian not Maximillion.

      • IF THIS DESIGN GETS THE GREEN LIGHT TO BE MADE, I’LL BE ONE OF THE 1ST PEOPLE TO CLICK “BUY” AND GET ONE. I MAY EVEN BUY TWO DEPENDING ON THE COLOR OPTIONS AVAILABLE. LOVE THE DESIGN AND I LOVE THE FACT THAT IT’LL BE EASIER TRYING TO TELL WHAT TIME IT IS AS COMPARED TO SOME OTHER DESIGNS…IT’S SLEEK, ELEGANT, AND IT WILL GET PEOPLE TALKING AND ASKING ABOUT IT.
