Scantron watch passes the test

Design submitted by Valentin from the USA.

Valentin says: I was taking a test at school the other day and i noticed that the answer sheet was pretty cool especially if i could use it to design a watch, so i got home, made plans and sketches and started making it.

The watch has bluetooth so that i can sync. time, it also has wifi, it tells you if theres wifi around and it also syncs the time if the time changed or the time zone your in while traveling etc. It also has a day and night indicator and a battery percentage indicator.and it has a usb to charge the battery or connect it the a computer. Just like a Scantron answer sheet the watch bubbles in a section where the number is located above the led letting you know the time and date. it also has a alarm and stopwatch and a timer.

Anyone who likes something different and unique looking on their wrist would love this watch. plus it looks sleek and it has a very clean design to it. and the watch is easaly read by anyone with a slight to no practice.

I think this design stands out and its useful due to the different things that this watch could do with the LEDs. it could be used to make animations and anything else that that you would want it to do.

  1. This is a nice and unusual looking design, you got some great shapes going on there. My only critisim is it looks on the large side. Id be tempted to get rid of the year increment of the date to lose a couple of rows of lights and shrink the case down a bit. Also maybe two colours of LED, one for time one for date would aid clarity. But these are very minor details, the overall scheme is cool! 5/Y Best of luck Valentin

  2. I love the idea, but it’s so busy. If there were some way to trim down just how much had to be displayed it’d be wonderful. Also, might have to watch out for Scantron copyright issues. That said, with a bit of tweaking, I’d love to get it.

    • yea i would get rid of the year leds too make it sorter:). i thot scantron was a name in general, i cant think of any other way to call those answer sheets lol.

  3. I like the geometry and I can imagine it in various materials. Very nice and you’re pretty skilled with SketchUp 🙂 The display though is a little too event-less… This watch deserves a more sci-fi display, something that’s epic like the shape of the case. An array of rectangles is not exciting for me (anymore 😉 ) The color is ok though. Whatever you do, good luck with it! And respect for your work!!

    • yea i had a black version of it but it was not posted? and i dont have any other materials to make my designs more realistic, sketchup only has regular colors with no textures or finishes at all lol this is the best i can do with rendering stuff . and thank you!:)

      • Please don’t get me wrong, I’m fine with abstract and non realistic images. You did very good actually. I know it’s quite some work to get such a detailed result with SketchUp.

  4. Like how do you make the 3D animation/drawing animation because all I can do is send in drawings, I dont know how to do it like that

  5. I like the idea & the overall look. The year could be remove. 2 colors would be nicer. I like the idea to have a “battery %” indicator.

Also, I like the rendering of the band. ( I’m also using SketchUp, for a year, and I don’t go that far )
