GEEK Binary watch, for the fashionable nerd.

Design submitted by Laszlo from Hungary.

Laszlo says: Binary LCD watch with always on display for geeks in silver or black version.

The time displayed in binary format with big, stylized 0 and 1 numbers on the LCD screen. Backlight activated automatically when the ambient light is low. The reading system is easy to all who knows the binary numbers. (Embossed numbers on the case help to counting.)

  1. I am not a fan of binary watches, but I like this one. The contrast between the fat zeros and the thin ones create an interesting image. This is definitely my favorite binary watch so far.

  2. Hey, Laszlo. I have to say, in the past I’ve never been a fan of binary watches in general because it takes me too long to read them.
What’s really great about this binary design is that time reading is easier/faster because of the powers of 2 listed on the case.
I also love the fact that your idea gives a representation of zeros and ones (always on), rather than just leds set to on or off. This actually is great for someone who’s learning what binary is (or number bases in general) and how to read it.
Unfortunately, though I see a lot of potential for this concept, the styling presented is something I absolutely could not wear. What about the female geeks? 😉
Anyway, I give this one 4*.

    • Hi Hea’thër. I apologize to all female geeks, this point I have not thought of them. Thank you for the comment and voting.

  3. Ok, so you have a binary watch and you still only go to 12 hours……

If it had support for a 24 hour work day I would like it. Now, not so much….

  4. I like the time telling system. Thanks to the embossed numbers (stylish!) it’s easy to understand. The display looks cool, like a robot mouth, hehehe. Like mentioned above, the I’s and O’s look indeed like ones and zeros. Another helpful fact is, that the I’s directly point at the needed numbers, the O’s don’t. Binary binary, it might sound scaring to some people, but this watch is so simple and creative. The case could be a bit more elegant, but that would be TF’s work anyway if they decide for this one. This is a watch for people who like it rational and not flashing – a decision that has to be respected. I support it with 2²+2º/YES

  5. Im not a fan of binary as my poor little brain struggles to work out the time. This design however is very straight forward and would be ideal for people to learn on. I like the 1s and 0s and the overall presentation is vey nice. I can indeed see this appealing to the geek chic but it’s not for me. I give you 5stars for the design but a no as it would not be something I would buy for myself. Best of luck Laszlo 🙂

  6. I’m not sure if you are the same Laszlo who inspired me once upon a time ago… I’m not a fan of binary and this design attraction is not exceeding my unpreferrable for binary… but hey, it is brand new and I can see this in BLACK case/strap, and RED LED/LCD and I will change my mind from 4* / No to 5* yes. Goodluck Laszlo!
