24/7 Driver – An Analog Watch Design with Dials

A new concept from the Tokyoflash Design Studio.

24/7 Driver is an analog watch design that is quite different to typical analog watch designs.  This concept uses discs that rotate like the hands of a normal watch and above these discs are dials through which the time is displayed. There are two variations in the image below. The left hand image uses a blue line to indicate the hour, minutes are shown on the inner dial, the current minute at the 3 o’clock position. The variation on the right has a white dial that appears through the spaces in the disc on top to show the current hour, minutes are shown on the inner dial in the same way as the design on the left.

This design comes to life at night. It has phosphorescent ink on the dials so that the current time is highlighted for ease of reading in moonlight hours.

Let us know how you feel about this design, if you have any feedback, we’d love to hear it.

  2. Interesting light effect. The green looks ugly to me. The right display is pretty cool. 4* (not overwhelming but not usual)

  3. Oh Firdaus, why so secretly 🙂 You can tell in english that you like it, hahaha. It is a nice concept, to use that diffuse light and the cut-out-planes on top of it. There are many many variations possible, you better try out some more;) I prefer the right one too, but in green/cyan/blue so it fits to the green light. Artistic but a bit too playful for me. Enough people like it that way though I think. Exact time isn’t possible right? That might reduce the clientele. Technically unusual anyway. Night time look is cool.
