October 7th, 2010

Design submitted by Laszlo from Hungary.

This unique watch design from Laszlo could be made in LED or e-paper – both making strong and solid statements.  Date and time are displayed in barcodes and digits.  Barcode is changing every second showing the actual time including the seconds.  Straps and casing are made from stainless steel which enhances the barcoded watch face. grid-s watch

Design submitted by Maciej from Poland.

Maciej says of his watch design – “My idea was to keep things simple, clean, efficient as possible, but still innovative and has a Tokyoflash style.  I wanted to create something that has one simple shape and pattern which goes around the watch without any crazy colors or shapes.  Something that is modest and outstanding at the same time”. Solar-powered Watch Design

October 6th, 2010
sam-jerichow-Image-02-ito-teaser2 A

Design submitted by Sam from Germany.

This solar watch uses its free energy to light up a twine on a transparent LED membrane.  The single vertical line goes through curves and ribbons, and forms the four numbers to show time.  A solar cell saves up energy to the battery and ensures continuous function.  Case and straps blend together making the watch look like it’s made in one metal piece.  The smooth strap ends are magnetic so there is no need for any lock mechanism. Red Predator Watch Design Concept

October 6th, 2010

Design submitted by Calvin from UK.

Time on this watch design is shown on the LEDs on the side of the watch and Predator symbols on the front of a see-through glass screen.  The left side of the screen tells hours, right side of the watch shows groups of 5 minutes, bottom part shows single minutes, and the symbol in the middle stays whole if AM and cut in half if PM. Electronic Bracelet Watch Design

October 5th, 2010

Design submitted by Jozze from Spain.

This design is like a piece of electronic bracelet jewelry.  The use of randomly lit LEDs instead of precious stones plays with the concept of uniqueness and individuality, and the LED mixed with the aluminum case and leather watch strap gives the watch a cyberpunk characteristic. Dragon Watch Design

October 5th, 2010

Design submitted by Logan from the USA.

Designed for ladies wear, this watch design is based on a strong symbol made feminine.  Like the Tokyoflash Waku, there is a choice of metal frames (silver or black) and straps (pink, white, or light blue).  The strap is made from (faux) alligator, like one of the Tokyoflash Waku straps. WATCH THIS watch design

October 4th, 2010

Submitted by Heather from the USA.

I was thinking it would be neat to come up with a concept that includes a play on words.  The display will say “WATCH THIS” – which is meant to grab your attention – especially on a WATCH!  Then a press of the button will display the time in an interesting way, which certainly is something to watch. Flying Watch – LEDs in Orbit

October 4th, 2010

Design submitted by Patrick from France.

The innovation in this concept LED watch is the “Free Push” which enables the LEDs to illuminate with the push of a finger or other body part without using the other hand, with a”beep” sound when pressed on the half-sphere center (see figure below). “If you have one hand occupied, you can turn the clock on against the cheek or on the hip!” Read the rest of this entry »

Water Ripple LED Watch Design

October 4th, 2010

Design submitted by Anders from Sweden.

A concept watch design inspired by the shape of the wrist and the movement of flowing water. Orbe LED Watch Design – The Perfect Circle

September 28th, 2010

Design submitted by Víctor from Spain.

This design is inspired by the concept of unity. The circle, symbol of the sun, creates rhythm on the watch, it begins from the centre moving out to the edge, the multiplicity of the sun rays interpreted as hours, increase the shape of the watch. This makes relations between the one, symbolizing the perfection of the simplicity, and the eternity. Read the rest of this entry »

B-Circuit Watch Design – B Version Rewired

September 20th, 2010

Design submitted by Maciej Mandrysz from Poland.

Another exciting and creative concept from Maciej. He says “This is a tribute to one of the best Tokyoflash products: the B-version watch. Orange LEDs combined with a circuit board pattern is something that will be a real attention grabber. The design is very clean and modern without any wicked or crazy shape, something I think many people will appreciate.” Read the rest of this entry »

2000200202 LED Watch – The future of 1000100101

September 16th, 2010

Design submitted by Francisco from Chile.

Francisco’s reinterpretation of one of his favorite Tokyoflash watches, the 100100101, is a unique art piece with its shaped surface and elegant form.  He describes it as being made from a solid aluminum block which is carefully perforated creating different models of holes with only some of them lighted up to show the time and date.  It keeps the solid block, leather strap, and multicolor LEDs of the 1000100101. Snap Ring – A Watch Design From Another Galaxy

September 16th, 2010

Design submitted by Patrick from France.

A very futuristic design, it almost reminds us of a Star Trek spaceship.  The design is very sleek with its glassy and smooth surface, and the snap ring strap is perfect for the whole concept.  The single-colored LEDs on its plain exterior make the watch simple yet catchy.  Red LED on a black casing would definitely stand out for this design.
