Anacube 01

Design submitted by Peter from the UK.

Peter says: Since my participation in the blog I have had a few ideas for watch design inspired by cube like forms. 3D Unlimited is one of my favourite TF designs and I love the simple but cryptic looking geometry. I have often thought it would be great if it was possible to create an analogue version. “Anacube” was the result. This design also takes a few cues form the internationally recognised puzzle “Rubik” cube.

WAVE LED watch animates on your wrist

January 25th, 2013
WAVE0618

Design submitted by Heather from the USA.

Heather says: I was actually inspired when I tried to read a watch display concept by Lloyd from Australia.  I was reading it incorrectly at first, looking for digits that weren’t there to find.  But then I thought, that would work.  So I developed this LED concept with animation that is basically an LED version of Kisai Stencil.  Because the only LEDs necessary create a somewhat wave-like layout, I decided to give it a wave-like animation and entitle it WAVE. The animation can be set to automatically turn on at various intervals.

OctoThorpe LED watch is a digital watch with a cryptic twist.

June 1st, 2012
sam-jerichow-octothorphe-00-preview

Design submitted by Sam from Germany.

Sam says: The inspiration for this watch came from the number sign (hash, pound sign, rarely octothorp in different variations). This symbol divides an area into nine squares.

I sketched around for a digital display and quickly came to the double square numbers, you can see in the images. I took the name Octothorpe due to it’s emphasis on the number 8. There are 8 squares forming the time display and each of them is made of 8 segments.
