They tended to be technically un-feasible and required expensive bespoke mechanisms to allow them to work. Echo E-paper LCD analog watch display

Sam says: I was sketching for an analog based sci-fi E-paper display based on half circles. I took the advantage of E-paper towards LCD to hide and create display gaps whenever pleasing. Anders says: Scribbling away one day, I sketched a display with curving lines across it. It looked to me like some sort of scanner display as seen in countless SF films. A few more lines and I had a concept; Astrolabe. The always-on OLED display adds visual punch.

Firdaus says: GAMERZ watch design is inspired by gaming rigs; those gaming PC case, gaming notebook, gaming mouse & keyboard etc. It is a combination of LCD and LED time telling in a watch. On idle (LCD) mode, user can tell the time without pressing a button as the time is always on. This is very useful when on driving or during outdoor under direct sunlight. Indoor and during night time, the hybrid (LCD+LED) mode will make the watch more appealing to enjoy.

Peter says: This is “Trylon LCD” an LCD version of the original Trylon concept.

Like the original design this watch is inspired by the image of the “flux capacitor” from the time traveling Delorean from the “back to the future” movies combined with a hint of Cylon.  The name “Trylon” came from the combination of the “Y” shape face and Cylon like display.

(English) ‘Sliced’ LED watch slashes its way though time.

Heather says: I thought about digits that are slashed through, but can still be read easily, and came up with the Sliced LED watch concept.  The digits are fairly basic 7-segment digits, with some parallel slashes sliced through some unnecessary pieces, causing these new digits to require more than 7 LEDs each.
