Inspired by subpixels, this watch design divides a segmented digit into red, green, and blue horizontal stripes, and uses the different colors to show hours (red), tens of minutes (green), and single minutes (blue).  In this way, the entire time is shown in the space of one digit. This watch design is a black ribbon watch with either black or grey raised rubber lines running along its length and width.  These raised rubber lines divide the watch’s surface into a grid of rectangles, the middle 6×5 of which have LEDs that are used to display the time. Quad Digital LED Watch

This watch design looks like a metal ribbon with randomly oriented C-shaped holes, some pointed up, some left, some right, some down (four directions, hence the name Quad).  The orientation of the 33 C-shaped holes has been carefully chosen so that the four digits of the time can always be displayed using two C-shapes per digit.  LEDs shine through the holes to show the digits.  The style is like Shinshoku or Fire, but you don’t have to do any math or counting to read the time.
