Justin says: I was doing the usual search on the internet for inspiration, logos, weird shapes or scientific influences and I saw the Cern logo (The LHC or Large Hadron Collider) and I was intrigued by the swirl effect and how lines ran off of it. That simple shape gave the impression of movement and velocity…thus, Centrifuge was born.

Peter says: I wanted to come up with a simple LED watch that could display digits using as few LEDs as possible. I wanted the design to have a detailed industrial look, which would suit various finishes, materials and colours. I then decided with a couple of tweaks that a second time telling method was also possible.

Andrew says: Hadron is a Torus analogue wrist watch is inspired by the large Hadron collider at CERN. The Hadron Collider uses high powered electromagnets to pull atoms / electrons around a giant loop of Vacuum tube to close the speed of light before smashing them together to reveal the sub-atomic structure of the universe. This lead to the discover of the Higgs boson Particle. (Materials: See Diagrams)

(English) Sentinel watch keeps a robotic eye on you

Pater says: This design is inspired by the modern trend in car design for LED head lights.

These new lights are becoming far more futuristic, detailed and elaborate than the more traditional bulb and reflector type that they replace. Its this futuristic elaborate look that made me think of watch displays and how this could be incorporated.

This design incorporates both a pulse sensor built-in to the bracelet / strap & kinetic motion sensors in the watch face. The pulse combined with the amount of movement gauges the user mood & this alters the color of control buttons & LED back light. I call this concept: Impulse

Many don’t particularly like them and prefer to wear jewellery or leather bracelets etc. For that reason I decided to design a simple concept based on a cuff style leather bracelet that looks and feels like a leather bracelet but has a covert LED watch built in, “Incognito” was born
