This is an easy to read LCD watch concept. The upper two digits indicate the hours and date (the inner little number is the first and the outer bigger number is the second number of the hours or month). Tokyoflash once commented this on one of my designs and pointed towards an exciting future: “…it would work well in e-paper. There is a monochrome variety (e.g.: black/red, black/blue, black/pink) which we are working hard to develop into watches. It can’t come soon enough as far as we are concerned as it will really open up possibilities.” Watches that are connected to your phone or computer, are becoming more and more popular so I gave another smartwatch a chance.

The Monolith concept started with sketching for minimalistic numbers. I made these slim blocks with different lengths that form numbers in a new way. They look a bit like a barcode or some skyscraper lights. There are no horizontal elements but these numbers work just fine. Continue reading →
