Sam Says: The initial idea was to use the classic 7-segment digits and take their center segments away. To emphasize the missing of the center segments and to give the numbers an alien look, they have been given a big gap in the middle and a more dynamic look. The result are four pairs of brackets.

The minute becomes meaningless, since there are 60 of those in an ‘hour’ and 24 of those in a ‘day.’ Star faring humans long ago began using the Kilosecond. Metric time, for when the rotation of a distant homeworld no longer holds any bearing.

Henry says: I wanted something unique than a traditional round or square watch. Watching some sci-fi movies I liked the idea of a stretch/oblong face. Afterwards I tried to make it simple to read and design while having a futuristic look and have the face able to flip for right wrist wearing.

This is an easy to read LCD watch concept. The upper two digits indicate the hours and date (the inner little number is the first and the outer bigger number is the second number of the hours or month). Sam says: There are two trends that inspired me to make the concept for L|NK. Tokyoflash once commented this on one of my designs and pointed towards an exciting future: “…it would work well in e-paper. There is a monochrome variety (e.g.: black/red, black/blue, black/pink) which we are working hard to develop into watches. It can’t come soon enough as far as we are concerned as it will really open up possibilities.” Watches that are connected to your phone or computer, are becoming more and more popular so I gave another smartwatch a chance.
