Sam says: The display of sector is inspired by the popular pie charts that are used to display statistical information in mass media. I think those charts don’t only have a scientific value but also an artistic one.

Peter says: Since my participation in the blog I have had a few ideas for watch design inspired by cube like forms. 3D Unlimited is one of my favourite TF designs and I love the simple but cryptic looking geometry. I have often thought it would be great if it was possible to create an analogue version. “Anacube” was the result. This design also takes a few cues form the internationally recognised puzzle “Rubik” cube.

David says: This is my idea for a bluetooth smart watch. It has an LCD display showing icons when you receive a call, email, message etc. It has strong lighting on the case like the lines of neon light in the Tron movie.

Peter says: I have made it sleeker and edgier than the original. I have also connected the two dials to make it look more scroll like and added markers to make time reading easier.

Valentin says: I came up with this idea from my favourite type of watches, so i decided to design this one. The design has translucent dials that light up and rotate to the specific time. The time is read from top to bottom under the arrow on the case of the watch.

Jordan says: After a long absence from the blog, I decided it was time to try again and after reading up on the reactions to my previous submission, Aurora, I chose to re-think, re-model, re-render and, of course rename it, resulting in this newer, classier watch: Moonwalker, ultimately inspired by one of my favorite watches – the Movado Luno.

Nazuk says: Idea for this watch was born in classroom project. It is inspired from Yin & yang, which implies night and day for me. Time is read in an analog way but by way of digital display, giving the name ‘digilog’

Peter says: This is “Mesh” a back to basics disc type analogue watch.
The inspiration for this concept is the old “mysteron” UFOs from the “Captain Scarlett” animated tv show from yesteryear. The UFO spun as it flew and had a metallic wire frame look to it which really caught the light. I have tried to get a similar feel without being too literal.

Sam says: I was trying to find a minimalistic style for an analog watch without losing reading comfort.
The idea is simple. So simple that I’m still not sure, if this hasn’t been thought of before. There is a ring with a gap that tells the hour. The part of the ring, that’s missing, wanders around it and tells the minutes. Done.

Nico says: I like Tokyoflash watches ever since I read gizmag articles about Tokyoflash. In particular, I like the Kisai Rogue Touch Pocket Watch, how the twelve large blocks on the outer ring tells the time.
I then think how else I can tell time with a similar concept but adding additional information and not make it more complex. That is how I come up with a pie chart style that divides the watch into two parts: dark and bright/day and night.
