LED Roman Numerals Watch Design

April 5th, 2011
led_roman_numerals_watch_design_overview

Design submitted by Paulo from Portugal.

Paulo says: “I like all kind of watches and I like to blend old with new, so when i saw the type of watches you make, i just put old numbers in the LEDs.

The design is very simple and you just have to know how to read Ancient Roman Numbers to be able to tell the time. This watch design would be great for anyone who likes old and new watches.

This design stands out as something different because although LEDs are usual in Tokyoflash watches, ancient numbers are not, i only see these in some analog watches.”

Design submitted by Alberto from Puerto Rico.

Alberto says, this is a re-imagining of a previous design I submitted. Inspired by the imagery of the glowing circuitry found in many movies, video games and other popular sci-fi media. The main reason I decided to submit this watch design was because the original had a blank space in the center. This has been redesigned. The other reason was so it can be fully appreciated in a 3D rendering, thanks to the help of my two friends “Samuel Jerichow and Sheffer Laszlo”. I am extremely grateful for their assistance. I don’t much care for most of the depictions of the cat in popular culture, so I thought I would make my own. Most depictions of the cat are either too playful, or too sinister. I aimed to create a work of art that depicted the cat as mischievous, playful, and a tad sinister; one that is also a timepiece. Read the rest of this entry »
