Magnetic Steel Watch Design

This watch design tells the time like a standard analog watch, the difference is in how it does it.  Everyone’s done the school physics experiment where you pour iron fillings on a paper with a magnet underneath.  Anders says that that was the inspiration for this concept.  A blank face sprinkled with steel particles. Cory says “The Skull and Crossbones on a black background, ‘Jolly Roger’ is instantly recognizable as the calling card of pirates throughout history.  From Blackbeard and Henry Morgan, to Calico Jack Rackham and Captain Kidd, most all pirates would fly a variation of the Jolly Roger to strike fear in the hearts of their quarry.”

A set of focused light beams is shot onto the non glossy, dark surface to create an art performance that shows the time in hh/mm sequence. Laszlo says: “Quarter is an analog version of my “Baransu” watch design. The inner dial is indicates the hours and the outer dial indicates the minutes. Just add up the numbers in the 12 hours position and calculate the time.”

Bicolor Binary Lift – A Binary LED Watch Design

A colorful binary LED watch design that uses six bi-color LEDs to display the time behind a sleek smoked black lens. Red LEDs indicate hours, yellow LEDs indicate minutes. Binary is simple to understand when you know how and this format of time telling allows for a minimal but unique time display.
