Design submitted by Andreas from Germany.
Andreas says: “I wanted time to speak through the shape and surface, so I looked at a grown piece of crystal, the perfect symbol for time, and transformed it into a relief surface of my watch. The time is displayed by three circles of dots from inside to outside; Hours, Minutes, Seconds. Read the rest of this entry »

Design submitted by Laszlo from Hungary.
Laszlo says: “This analog watch design displays the time using two screen printed acrylic dials. These dials spin above the numbers. Hours are shown on the left side, minutes on the right side. Both dials are divided into two sections. The hour dial shows 0-6 hours on the outside and 6-12 hours on the inside. The minutes dial works in the same way on the other side.” Read the rest of this entry »

Design submitted by Devindh from the UK.
Devindh says: “I looked at the watches featured in the Tokyoflash Watch Museum and the ‘Nekura Tumbler’ style of watch with it’s rotating, semi obscured face appealed to me. I did some more research online and decided to combine some of these design elements into my own hybrid version. Read the rest of this entry »

Design submitted by Sam from Germany.
Sam says: “I wanted to make a single handed analog watch with 24h display. That’s not brand-new? That’s right. But this watch shows each minute as clear as if it is a traditional analog watch display. Read the rest of this entry »

Design submitted by Felipe from Brasil.

Design submitted by Cory from the USA.
Cory says: “Ninjas attacked me as I was walking to work. I had only my wits to save me. As everyone knows, if there is a lone Ninja, he can fight off an entire army by himself, but if there is a large group of them, they drop like flies. This is the law of the Ninja, I’m not sure why that is, but there you have it. From this encounter came the notion of a watch made of Ninja tools.

Design submitted by Anders from Sweden.
Anders says: “Inspired by a few other sun-dial designs on this blog, I was hit with the idea to make an actual sun-dial watch, but substituting LEDs orbiting the watch face for the sun. Some sketching resulted in this design; Gnomon; two layered faces , a center gnomon and cleverly shuttered LEDs. Read the rest of this entry »

Design submitted by Laszlo from Hungary.
Laszlo says: “This is an analog watch, with electroluminescent backlighting (yellow or green). The light shining through on two screen-printed acryil dials indicates the time. The fixed hand is printed on the inside of the glass.
The time reading on this watch design is very simple. The dials move in a clockwise direction and the time is always shown in the window at the 12 o’clock position. Read the rest of this entry »

Design submitted by Paulo from Portugal.
Paulo says: “I like all kind of watches and I like to blend old with new, so when i saw the type of watches you make, i just put old numbers in the LEDs.
The design is very simple and you just have to know how to read Ancient Roman Numbers to be able to tell the time. This watch design would be great for anyone who likes old and new watches.
This design stands out as something different because although LEDs are usual in Tokyoflash watches, ancient numbers are not, i only see these in some analog watches.”

Design submitted by Anders from Sweden.
Anders says: “The idea of a watch that projects the time onto the wearer’s wrist, like some alarm clocks that show the time on the ceiling, is one that has floated around my head for a while now. I’ve wanted to do the concept justice, and have let it take it’s time. Read the rest of this entry »
