(English) Venturi analogue watch ‘saws’ through time.

(English) Design submitted by Peter from the UK.

Peter says: This is “Venturi” which I suppose could be described as an analogue equivalent to “Blade”. It certainly shares some inspiration imagery but the time telling is much more conventional.

The time is told in a conventional analogue disc style. The inner/smaller bladed disc (moulded plastic) described the hours. The outer/larger oppositely bladed disc describes the minutes. Both discs feature a window cut-out in one of the blades to highlight the time. This is made even clearer when the backlight is utilised.

This design should appeal to those who like their analogue watches with a automotive/aviation theme. The bladed discs give an industrial feel and a sense of animation. The backlight adds a dramatic feel that should appeal to the more geeky amongst us.

The twin blade like arrangement with dramatic backlighting sets this design apart from others.

I hate to be frequent here and act like politician but I must land here for this moment to praise this awesome design. The time telling is just fine, but the awesomeness of design is not resistible by myself. Great job and 5*/Y for it.

Hi Pete, everything turbine, reactor, industrial engine I like, so 5 * / Yes.
Is that the slots on the outer circumference of the dial have a function?

Im glad you like same industrial inspirations as me! ;)
The slots on the bezel are just decoration at the moment, but there would be nothing stopping them being used for other functions, feasiblity allowing :D Cheers for the comment and support sir! :D

just an idea, you could put a brimbo brake pad on the side that could also house the buttons. Red on black with the face skined off to show black reliefs would be nice!

Sounds interesting and industrial looking, I presume mean a brake calliper shape with the red detail. Would certainly continue the automotive/aviation theme. Might be something worth trying :D

Hi Pete. :) It looks very nice and would be a very distinctive watch to wear for sure. Just wish the time telling was a bit less conventional. Anyway, I gave you 5Y earlier. Best of luck with it.

The time telling is restricted to conventional analogue time telling because for feasiblity. I worked on the basis that an off the shelf movement could be used. To get a more un-usual time telling a an expensive bespoke movement would be needed. Cheers for the feedback Mushy and the support! :D

This is one very sharp analogue concept let’s hope it’s a cut above the rest. However I still prefer the“Shuriken” analogue design concept a little better.

Awesome Pete, just awesome! First I thought it’s the guys in Twilight, but that’S Volturi. Yes, I saw Twilight. Talking about “saw”, I really like these saw blades in two colors and the monochrome ones also look yumm. Very wise, chosing brushed metal for the elements. This watch has a nice recognition value and stands out. Good luck, 5*/YES

I love the orange / blue version, although I would go for a black strap with it. It looks evil and somehow reminds me of wierd teeth in some horrible alien creature. Hope this get made. 5*/Y, obviously.

Orange, blue and black sounds like a nice combo! :D
Yeah it does remind me a little of the mighty Sarlaac from one of the original star wars film.
I must admit to using the big turbine in the chest of the Jaeger “Gypsy Danger” from the film Pacific Rim as a little inspiration too :D Cheers for the support sir

I like the “electric razor blade” look. I like the back light effect. I like the silver case/black band with the aqua/blue lights & full black & red.
