Heather & Sam say: The STREAM is an LED smart watch that combines futuristic time telling with a stylish look.
The watch is made of a matte back material and has soft straps. There is this glossy black cut running all around the watch, representing the stream. It crosses the display area diagonally, dividing it in two halves.
On the left half we find the hours in time telling mode, while the minutes are on the right side of the stream. The numbers look like the traditional 7-segment numbers we all know, adapted to the trapezoid shapes of each display half. But the numbers don’t have a horizontal center segment. The space inside each number is used for the notification icons. The stream shows a flashing time indicator on the bottom. It can also show a date and an alarm indicator if the corresponding information is shown. On the top of the stream an abstract letter p could appear, indicating pm in 12h mode. This is especially useful when setting the time or alarm.
Each notification icon is a letter or an exclamation mark next to 0-3 counters. Once there is something happening, the watch vibrates and the appropriate icon flashes.
The stream also encases all LEDs used for the smart actions. The LEDs at the bottom of the stream that were used to indicate time/date/alarm work together as animated ringer icon. The media player icon is a music note in the same tilted and edgy style as all the other LEDs. The media player controls follow the style. All media player icons are concentrated in the middle of the stream. The social check-in icon reuses the ìvolume downî media control icon and looks like a check mark. The top of the stream is used for the camera (an abstract camera), Bluetooth (an abstract b) and find phone (an abstract ?) icons while some LEDs get reused for the different icons. When Bluetooth or ringer is selected, the ìvolume upî and ìvolume downî media controls are reused to indicate ON and OFF respectively.
The display is a well organized layout of LEDs that uses minimal space without forgetting the style.
