BLUR watch pulls time into focus.

Design submitted by Laszlo from Hugary.

Laszlo says: Blur effect optimized for an LCD display. Minimal design with huge signs, interesting effect. The effects speed can be adjusted. This is my BLUR concept. The upper two digits is indicates the hours and the lower two is the minutes. Very simple to read. I suggest this watch to anybody who like the wristwatch with big screen.

Cooool effect and nice animation! Maybe blurring normal numbers would work too, then there is only one level of “confusion”. Anyway, I would buy it :)

Thank you for your comment Sam.
Yes the blur it work with the normal numbers too (for example Helvetica).

GMTA on this one, I had a similar concept at the modeling stage ages ago but scrapped it cos my version looked too much like Sam’s “Digital Density” concept. Your version is much cooler anyway and looks fantastic. The devil is in the detail and the close up view of the display is just awesome as is the animation! Fine work sir! 5/Y Best of luck! :D

I agree with Sam on this, very cool looking! I really like the raster effect the circles create, and the way they’re segmented gives a certain sci-fi flavour to it. I’d like to see a slimmer case, but it’s clearly the display that’s the star of the show, and I find it difficult to find anything about that I’d change. Good work!

      Thank you Anders S.
During the design process I’m trying to keep in mind that the electronics fit in the case. A slimmer appearance (only optical) dividing the two parts of the case.

Yes, reality always has to come along and insist on being, well, real…=) I suppose I don’t always listen to it as much as I perhaps should, so it’s good that someone does. It looks eminently makeable as a result. And yes, there are plenty of tricks to make it look thinner, all of which I’m sure the good folks at TF know. =)

Creative implementation of the blur effect. Uniquely fading the sharp LCD signs.

I like the overall look. I like that the animation can be put off. I like the numbers appearance. Another great concept.
