Sliced LED Watch

Design submitted by Laszlo from Hungary.

Time can be easily read from this sliced design from Laszlo.ย  The LEDs can be in a single color as the slices on the display clearly show the time divisions.

The outer slices show the hours (1-12), the middles slices show 10 minutes group, and the inner slices show single minutes (1-9).

  1. How can the watch show 12 and 0 for hours? That would be 0-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12. That’s 13 hours. The watch needs to reset to 1 instead of 0 after 12.

  2. Hmmm I like your other watches more ๐Ÿ™‚ But still a solid design. I’m not a fan of round displays on square cases, but somehow you made it look nice.

    I believe you meant to show midnight by 0 and noon by 12. (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 0) Unusual but no problem ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Yeah, I am quite a fan of your work Laszlo but this isn’t my favorite. I like the strap and case but not the display. This reminds me of a port hole.

  4. I really like this concept as this was very similar to my own but I have nowhere near the graphic arts design skills necessary to make such a presentation.

    From a manufacturing perspective, this watch is entirely feasible and could be manufactured tomorrow with existing technology.

    Perhaps my only qualm with this is in telling the date. I understand that specialty watches do not cater to the mainstream crowd but a watch that only tells the time of day would be seen as limited. As long as the date could be set and there was a stopwatch option, there is no reason why this watch wouldn’t sell in significant numbers. Add the ability to choose the color of the sections (a premium watch option, perhaps?) and it would be very desirable.

  5. I like the idea to have 0 lights for midnight and all the 12 for midday.
    The case and display shape is not so original if I can be honest.
    I still prefer your brick watch ๐Ÿ˜‰
