Dragon Watch Design

Design submitted by Logan from the USA.

Designed for ladies wear, this watch design is based on a strong symbol made feminine.  Like the Tokyoflash Waku, there is a choice of metal frames (silver or black) and straps (pink, white, or light blue).  The strap is made from (faux) alligator, like one of the Tokyoflash Waku straps.

To read the time, count the number of blue dragon scales in the middle for hours, pink scales at the top for tens of minutes, and purple scales at the bottom for single minutes.  The two green scales indicate PM when lit.  The metal frame has holes to reveal the LEDs (the entire grey/black is the frame, not just the outer rectangle).

For women who are as strong as a dragon.

  1. Well this is just sublime. I can’t believe it’s only got a 2.6 rating so far. Was there a fish scale design similar to this? The colour scheme is vibrant. My question is, can these colours be created with LEDs?

  2. Another cool interpretation of the 12-5-9 topic. It reminds of the Koi watch from Anna (Australia). Fish scales, dragon scales who cares 😀 Stylish watch and very tokyo flashy.

  3. As I mentioned in the description, in my imagination the lines dividing the scales would be made from metal, as part of the frame in one continuous piece, and the strap would have a similar alligator skin pattern. I wish I could illustrate this in 3-D, please look at the diagrams and imagine it, too.

  4. 時間の読み方はわかったのですが、もうちょっと、パターンとの関係性が欲しいですね。単純にパターンに時間を配置するだけだったらなんでもアリになっちゃいそう。。

  5. A dragon design or a colored fish? I like the way this simple patern gives a japanese feel. The colors also are very nice!

  6. Yes it would look better if the pattern was done all round the strap, more of a bangle design. I had a few friends mention to me while out having a beer say, “Hey that Logan guy has some wicked designs!” So your name is popping up in conversation here in Japan. JFYI. 🙂

    • Great to hear it! So this means I can now say I’m “big in Japan,” like the song? 🙂 I’m traveling now, and must pause from designing, but just logged on and glad to see this remark. It gives me encouragement to submit more when I return.

By the way, is it possible to get general feedback on why you don’t post certain designs, or is that too much because you get so many submissions? For example, I thought “XO” or “Retina” would really appeal to you, and, if not, it would be nice to learn why, so I could better focus on designs that you would like. I understand, though, that that could be too much work for you. Anyway, comments like this are quite encouraging, so I’ll keep at it.

  7. Cool watch. It’s not making my eyes go wow but the pattern looks interesting. If the straps would also have this pattern, this watch would be a style object.
